IMO it's still a good pet, I still used Life Exchange against all the Beasts of Fable after the nerf without a problem, and now my Sprite Darter has also become a permanent part of my Chi-Chi team for the Celestial Tournament.
That said it is identical to the Nether Faerie Dragon as far as abilities, so it's not unique.
