Question about Profession Pets?

Alright, I've got a quick question. Are profession pets from one character able to be summoned on alt characters with different professions?
So for example if on my Orc I have Jewelcrafting and Archaeology, and have a Fossilized Hacthing pet; could I go on my Blood Elf that has say, Fishing and Tailoring, and summon the Fossilized Hatching from my Orc?

Yes, you can summon your pets on any of your alts regardless if they have the profession that created the pet. Hooray for account-wide pets!

Last I checked on the PTR, the new 5.4 engineering pets are still not cageable.
