I have a small dilemma regarding the Viscous Horror

Last night it dropped for my guild. Yay! The GM and all the raiders know how much of a pet nut I am and said to give it to me. I told the raid that I would pay what I could for it and did 50k.

My dilemma is that the guild is rather broke and right now the elusive little blob sells for about 100k to 120k. I want to keep it yes but should I sell it and wait for the 5.4 drop changes regarding this pet and buy it then? (giving the money to the guild bank of course) Or should I be slightly selfish and keep it for myself?

You earned the pet by raiding with them and on top of that everyone choose to give it to you and you still gave the Gbank 50k. In my opion you already went over and above for the guild. I would keep it and enjoy your new pet What I would NOT do is use it for trade fodder or to sell for a profit for yourself.

Maybe your guild was broke...but now they are 50k richer !!

As far as the 100 to 120k, not so much. I have been trying to sell one in Illdian for awhile not for under 90k and no one is interested. This morning I checked and there are 4 peeps undercutting each other. At 6AM PST, the lowest price was 82k.

Totally unrelated to the OP's post, and I apologize for hijacking this thread, however I have seen a few threads mentioning a chance to the drop of the Vicious horror. I combed through the patch notes a few times but am not seeing what that change is. Could someone enlighten me?

I'm pretty sure the reference is to you actually having a chance to get the pet on the bonus roll instead of just the initial drop from the boss.

Read Atlas Shrugged and maybe the answer will become clearer.

Absolutely you should keep it. It's a win-win for everyone involved: you got the pet that you wanted for a reasonable sum, your guild bank got a pretty nice influx of money. Congrats to you!
