Apparently [url=http://ptr.wowdb.com/items/100870-murkimus-tyrannical-spear]Murkimus Tyrannicus[/url] is coming to the members of the top 1000 teams in the next Arena Tournament.

Is it just for the top 1000 teams? Or is it similar to Murkimus the Gladiator, and you only need to participate in a certain number of matches to be eligible?
If it's a new pet for the Arena Pass, I would hope that it's the latter scenario (same as Murkimus the Gladiator). But then that would mean Murkimus the Gladiator would no longer be available once Murkimus Tyrannicus is released. Meep.
Hopefully there will be more info soon.

Mmm, I wouldn't say the pet needs your team to be in top 1000 necessarily:

The title is Vanquisher, and both e-mails are directed to 'Vanquisher.'
To me, that suggests that Murkimus will continue to be available for participation, while 'Murkimus Tyrannicus' will be for the top 1000 teams.

Yes, it's hard to say at this point. Both letters use 'Vanquisher', but the pet letter says 'your participation' and the title letter says 'your successes'.

If it's a new pet then I'd be inrerested in signing up to the arena to play enough games to get it. Maybe some others are interested in making teams for it?

mmo-champ database indicates it will be an entirely new pet, with new moves and name. i hope it will have a new and more "injured" model than murkimus the gladiator

It's a new color, with white eyes. Take from the latest PTR. Hopefully it is just a replacement for Murkimus and not just for top 1k or else I have my work cut out for me!
