Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
I am closing in on 75 level 25 pets and was looking forward to the singing cricket.
Then I looked him up, and I dont see anything special about him.
Is this the lamest achievement pet ever, or am I missing something?
What sets him apart from your run of the mill Marsh Fiddler?

I have it and I was not that happy. All abilities are the same as what you will find in the other crickets (Red Cricket from the Tillers, Marsh Fiddler). The Singing Cricket is breed 12 while the Red Cricket is a breed 8.

Yes. Yes it is.
Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
Got mine the other day and leveled it on tamers to 25 the same day, will likely never use it, but I do hope they make it sing or something as it's name implies like a Jimminy Cricket folling as a companion.

Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
I'll get it eventually but it is indeed a pretty sorry pet for that achievement. Considering the number of crickets you can capture and that Sho gives you one as well.
Venus and Tenticle were both very nice achievement pets. Very unique.
75 25's should give you a a unique pet model.
I'd like to 150 25's give you a murloc. That's almost as bad as the Insane title in my opinion. lol

Very disappointing reward. Even more disappointing than the Little Fawn reward back in the day from Lil' Game Hunter when that was actually a tough thing to get.
I don't understand why they even bothered here with this one. I honestly wish it had instead just been achievement points and not a pet reward that is essentially nothing more than a Marsh Fiddler just renamed.

Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
I started an "official" thread in the pet forum @ blizzard if any would like to chime in. Who knows...maybe a dev will see it and agree and rain down upon us a new spectacular pet for that achievement.
Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
I would do that!! A murloc is my most wanted pet. <3Talmar wrote:I'd like to 150 25's give you a murloc. That's almost as bad as the Insane title in my opinion. lol
And I do have the Insane title.

Yes. I loved Venus and Jade Tentacle as achievement pets. This one is just horrible. I guess according to Blizzard leveling 75 pets up to max level isn't difficult enough to deserve a decent reward. >.>

At the very least, the Singing Cricket should actually sing. Perhaps it should follow Jiminy Cricket's example and a top hat is in order.

Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
I think its fine that its "just a cricket," but it should sing.
At the time, the fawn was a cute, unique pet. Less special now that you can capture other similar fawns in the wild, of course.Very disappointing reward. Even more disappointing than the Little Fawn reward back in the day from Lil' Game Hunter when that was actually a tough thing to get.

Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
The singing cricket is a disappointing reward... it should atleast have a unique look or do something fun for an idle animation. as for the next "x pets to 25 achiev", i think a bronze whelpling is in order since they can't seem to find a spot to put one, and murlocs are a pretty tall order since they're normally reserved for special events like blizzcon. plus it would make this whelp as unique and hard to get as the others

I have to agree.
Reward pets should be unique in some way - especially the higher-ranking achievements.
Considering the Red Cricket is of a superior breed, the Singing Cricket is just sad for what it is.

I would have ground 75 to 25 anyway and I sure didn't do it for this lame pet. Any idea how many Marsh Fiddliers I battled for the acheev? Like I needed another cricket. Since there are no more leveling acheevs it should have been unique.

Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
Agreed it is pretty lame and I was also a little bummed there isn't a 150 pet achieve nor a nice trap with a 5% catch rate increase. Idk wishful thinking maybe? lol

Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
The big achievement pets should be worth of the amount of time and effort devoted to them.
A tentacle, a cricket, both fall spectacularly short.
They wouldn't offer a Murloc in the future, but that would be amazing. Since they like "themed" Murlocs, what would work? A Safari Murloc? A Spectral Murloc? But yeah, these milestone pets should be something special. Not equal to something you can pick up in the wild.

It does sound boring : / in general I'm not a huge fan of the reuse of achievement-skins or skins that prior to the battle system were relatively rare.
The achievement-pets that people work for should be more unique, at least a notably different colour than the ones obtained from battling, and so should the rares people collected before the battlesystem : P

Re: Is Singing Cricket a Lame Achievement Pet?
Yes, it's a lame pet. I was really disappointed when I saw it was the reward because I preferred my Marsh Fiddler I tamed a long time earlier and it was hard to be excited for that..
Maybe because there is only one "Raise # pets to level 25" achievements. That doesn't really make sense to me. If you train more than that... 150, 300, 500, etc you should get achievements/rewards for that. Those are big achievements that deserve recognition.
That way this achievement/reward would make sense because it would be the first pet in a series of pets you get for leveling. Just like we got for collecting pets.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the tentacle. I love my Squiddity!Stoutspectre wrote:The big achievement pets should be worth of the amount of time and effort devoted to them.
