Putrid Geist is now availabe at the vendor in Icecrown..
20 of the new currency, which you'll have soon after completing the quest line.

He's also cageable, so you can buy him off the AH if you like. Pretty cheap depending on your server.

Yeah, but it's not even an effort to get enough currency to buy him.
I didn't even know he was there, and I already had the currency, when I opened the vendor window.
