What do these numbers mean? I see them used a lot in various forums but this site doesn't label pets by numbers and I have an addon that also doesn't use them, so I'm totally confused to what each of these numbers means and how you can tell what your pet is.

Usually when you see a set of three numbers varying between 1 and 2 next to a battle pet in a guide or write-up, it's usually indicating which abilities to pick/use for a specific strategy.

1 = default ability in the slot
2 = second ability in the same slot (second choice in the drop-down option)

Example: [pet]Orange Tabby Cat[/pet] (2,2,1)

• Slot 1 = 2, which would be [ability]Pounce[/ability] ([ability]Claw[/ability] being 1, aka the default option)
  Slot 2 = 2, which would be [ability]Screech[/ability]
  Slot 3 = 1, which would be [ability]Devour[/ability]

In what context are you seeing these numbers? The above may not always apply, but it's hard to say without knowing how the information is being displayed.

Oh I see! Yes it makes perfect sense as I was confused to how Chrominius could be anything other than a H/H pet and yet was described as 212, but when I look at his abilities suggested they are the 2nd, 1st, and 2nd. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
