I believe that most of trainer pets have already got their playable versions?
(By the way, it's a bit sad that in Legion many NPC pets seem to be just the old ones, but one can hope they're placeholders. What about using the previously unused ones?)

I definitely wouldn't mind if trainer pets were available to collectors.
On top of a few unique models (like Pixiebell that [profile]Darolyn[/profile] mentioned), I think there are some different colors that are only used by trainer pets. Okrut's [url=http://www.wowhead.com/npc=66997/drogar]Drogar[/url] in Dragonwaste is the first one that I can think of, but I'm sure there are a few more.
