excludes pets with cooldowns/requires seasonal holidays such as guild herald and winterveil pets.

Does/Can such a macro exist?

I think you'd have to use an add-on to exclude pets. There are multiple summoning add-ons that are small and low-maintenance. I use RandomCompanion.

I'm not savvy with script/macro writing at all so I refer to this page a lot for macros: http://www.wowpedia.org/Making_a_macro

Afters skimming over it, I don't think a macro that excludes a certain type of pet is possible since there's no slot number for vanity pets (is there?) to include into the script . Maybe if pets were still items that you hold in your inventory or in a sort of vanity pet stable (like hunter pets), a macro would be possible to exclude a few specific ones.

Okay, thank you both! I'll poke around at RandomCompanion a bit more and see what I get. Though, I do know it doesn't consider the Wintersaber daily pet a 'companion' :D
