Battle Stones

I was wondering if buying a uncommon pet from the AH and using a battle stone is the same as buying a rare, assuming the breeds are the same?

Yes it is completely identical.

Yep. I upgrade all the pets I sell in the AH to rare. Unlike wild pets cageable pets only start out in one quality.
