Murmur. I was very disappointed when this turned out to be just a toy. For abilities: Sonic boom, Murmur's wail, Auditory assault, LOUD NOISES! (in your best Brick voice).

A Banshee Youngling (undead).

It could also have similar abilities to Banshee.

Defensive abilities: Anti-Magic Shell (absorbs damage) or Banshee Curse (reduces enemy target's hit chance by 66% for x turns)
Damaging ability: Banshee Wail (inflicts x amount of damage)

Humar. I honestly don't know if he is still in game after Cataclysm, but he was my hunter pet back in vanilla and I would love to have a version of him.

I would like to see a pet that looks like a mini version of my NE Druid when she's in cat form. They could come in all the colours that you see the shapeshift forms come in so you can match. Of course it would look cuter like a baby....and it would be cool if there could be little Cubs to match the bear form too.
Abilities could match some of the Druid attacks too.

I just had to add to this, it would be awesome if they just made one and it changed colors randomly when you summoned it. That would be a lot of fun

I'd like to see a Lil' Boulderfist Ogre. (Humanoid)

It would have to have 'Headbutt' as one of it's moves, that could damage a random opposing team member, but with a chance for it to fail whilst the Ogre's two heads argue with each other about which pet to attack.

Revisiting some of the game's early mobs as battle pets would be fantastic.

I'd love to see a battle pet version of Arcturis the Spirit Beast Bear. He was the first hunter pet that I camped for, and I ran around with him for ages, feeding him lots of fish and other goodies. His name, of course, was Baloo. I thought a tiny version of him would be adorable - like a see-through version of the Baby Blizzard Bear!

(As a side note, my first idea was already taken! I totally want a mini version of some of the druid forms. We already have a baby moonkin - why not a baby feral form? I mostly just want a little neon troll kitty running around behind me...or the bat form! I agree with the previous poster who wanted the pet to randomly change colors when summoned.)

Level 1 - Slot 1: Icy Lock, works like Grasp, deals aquatic damage

Level 4 - Slot 3: Soul Reaper, places a three round debuff on active pet. After three rounds if active pet is below 30% health, Soul Reaper instantly kills pet and ignores all racials. Debuff is removed if pet is swapped.

Level 10 - Slot 1: Vile Spirits, summons 9 vile spirits that fly above the battlefield. Every two rounds 3 spirits fly down and explode dealing 270 AoE magic damage to split between each enemy pet. 6 round cd

Level 15 - Slot 2: Harvest Souls, this ability always goes first. Stuns enemy pet. 3 round cd

Level 20 - Slot 3: Necrotic Plague, place a three round dot that deals 120 undead damage, increasing by 60 each round. If Necrotic Plague is reapplied, the damage doubles and the dot length resets to three rounds. 1 round cd

Same answer I always give to this question will continue to give until Blizzard makes it happen.

Mechanical Corgi

Newly freed from the cave of the evil Greench this lovable pet will loyally (and adorably) fight for his new owner.

Cute Face: Increases your chance to dodge an attack by 25%. Lasts 4 rounds. (Pretty much had to have this)
Wind Up: First use: Increases your damage dealt by 10%. Second use: Unleashes a flurry of attacks, dealing Mechanical damage.
Gaudy Sweater: Stun the target for 1 round. (Did I mention he wears a Winter Veil sweater?)

I want to see a mini horse as a battle pet! Not sure about his abilities but maybe drops off the wild horses in Grizzly Hills.

It'd be neat to see a mini Ettin. Like the one from the Redridge Mountains quest to save foreman Oslow. He could drop from Ettin Control Orb. Humanoid obviously. He could have abilities like Bash or clobber (cause, you know, he has that club.) and his big hit ability would be giant stone throw.....

Ettin: 'Where throw? Throw on bridge?'
Redridge soldiers : 'Nooo, Anywhere but the bridge!'

I always wanted to keep him. Especially at the end of the quest when he says "Bye Bye Daddy..."

Edit: for his Animation: He could run around throwing large stones at other non-battle pet critters.

I would love to see 'mini me' pet that casts frostbolts and blizzard and wears my transmog =) or 'mini random friend of mine' with his spells and gear =) i named almost all of my pets, lots of them have my friends names, it makes me really happy when i see them walking around my garrison =) imagine if i can take them on adventures with me =)

A walrus pet, like the Truskarr in Northrend (http://www.wowhead.com/faction=1073/the-kaluak 5th & 8th screenshot are good examples).

Humanoid.
Punch/kick (maybe one humanoid skill, the other beast)
Shield/howl. (they seem like they're pretty laid back but those types can really get pissed when pushed enough.
Charge/block.

And of course thanks for these awesome contests and the real life money you put into them!
