But gawd, getting gold on the Real Big Race with the rocketeer is HARD! Havent been able to press it below 25 tolls. 20 is needed for the gold ach that awards the pet.

The Race Minizep is listed as not tradable.

I got a second one and tooltip says only one allowed. The pet has health=158, attack=12 and speed=10.

In the race, the rocket boosts with the blue orbs will do one of four things when you run over them:
1) does nothing
2) rocket you high into the air
3) throw you forward a short distance
4) 2+3

When those boosts work in your favor, they can give some nice shortcuts.

Thanks for that video, Caega! With this it's actually much easier than I thought it would be. I even got stuck a few times, so the run doesn't have to be perfect in order to make it within 20 tolls.

luckily it is MUCH easier than the race stider achive.
the easiest way is to take a rocket on the 1st or 2nd rotating bonus once you reach the water and just skip to the 1st flag, once you managed this the rest is a piece of cake.

Hrm, watched the video, still struggling to get better than 22.

success! The rockets after the pier is the shortcut that made it possible.

Right after you leave the pier and race into the water, theres several rockets. Use them to skip ahead to make gold possible. After trying them all out, combined with my rocket jumps, I managed to find one to combojump properly with to skip right up to red marker, shaving a large lump of the time. Which was which did the trick, giving me enough time to reach the goal post at 20 tolls.

I seem to be only able to do the regular race, not the real big race -- what's the mystery? I did it in 14 tolls -- but it isn't the Real Big Race.. is that another day or month or something?

edit; nm, I found the other race official!

To clarify, the real big race starts at the opposite end of the pier.

I tried and tried the pathway that the video posted higher up showed but was unable to do better than 22 tolls, I just wasn't coordinated enough I guess. This one however, I was able to do after a few tries. I find it a MUCH better pathway and less prone to luck.

I can also confirm (in spite of what it says on the site here) that this pet is NOT cageable. Don't know if this is a mistake or it has changed, but as it stands right now, can't cage it.

The pet got made uncageable in a hotfix afaik.

I never, ever, EVER... evrevrevrever, ever, want to run that again.

Took me all day and dozens of tries before I got the pet. Getting the race done in 20 clicks is very hard. The videos on this site help very much so watch them. Good luck!!!

I have no idea, how you guys do it..

Every time I take a booster or run through a gate, there is a ½-1 second lag spike.. It's simply impossible to do the races...

I see you are on Draenor-EU, that might be the problem. A very highly populated realm, so Im not really suprised that theres a lot of people in the zone and stressing everyone else due to the sheer number of players rendered. Try it at night hours to see if theres a difference.

Or get an xrealm invite to a low pop realm.

I find it quite annoying that you NEED to skip part of the race to be able to finish it within 20 tolls. After lots of tries, I didn't manage to duplicate the videos. Even if I get the jump right, I can't seem to cross that last piece to the purple post.

I doubt that makes any difference, as Darkmoon Island is CRZ enabled, so you see people from all other realms...

Do you know if/when the hotfix went live? I got it late late last night (well after your post about the hotfix) and was unable to cage it.
