Feels like a strong guess that the next wow expack will be announced this comming Blizzcon. If they indeed are gearing up for only 2 tiers this expansion, in return for a faster content delivery as promised. Time to put all the peons to work that they hired and had to train, which delayed wod.

Since WoD is said to be leading directly into the next expack, and Gul'dan having such a strong role in this one, I think its a good bid that it will be a demon type pet we might see.

Personally I'd really love to see a plain murloc again (a la Murky) but I guess they're all themed now. I wonder if they'll do some sort of Overwatch reference? I don't know the ETA on that, but if the release date is somewhat close they might go that route.

What is the HotS theme though? Since its pretty much grab bag of all blizz games. There is however a murloc hero in HotS, so I guess if they would do a HotS pet it would likely be this one.

A Heroes of the Storm themed Blizzcon pet is unlikely, as a Hots promotion pet is comming in the near future. Aka [pet]Graves[/pet]

If not for the pet I would not get the virtual ticket, 80% of the content of blizzcon has little to no interest for me.

I think the Murloc will be themed from something that will be released either at the end of this year a month or two after the event or the next year.

For example, Grunty came from Blizzcon 2009 and Starcraft 2 released the next year. Deathy came from Blizzcon 2010 and Cataclysm dropped in December of the same year. Murkablos was from Blizzcon 2011 and Diablo 3 released in 2012. Murkalot from Blizzcon 2013 and Reaper of Souls came out early last year. Finally Grommloc from last year's Blizzcon and Warlord of Draenor came out a few days after.

So I predict the Murloc themed will be from a major release following the event. If I am right, it should be Legacy of the Void themed, since that should be the closest thing to release by then right?

My guess is an Overwatch themed Murloc.

My husband has a theory that WoD was "delayed" because they had an entirely different expansion planned, but switched to WoD to hype the movie. So now they can release the next one faster because they already had it almost finished anyway. Sounds like a Bizzard-ish move to me.

Plain old Murloc would be nice. Though that doesn't sound Blizzard-ish because it hypes nothing specific.

That would be fine by me! But which character to theme it after... Tracer is the obvious choice, of course. Hm.

How about Winston, that big gorilla? He's got that armor you can put on a murloc. You can even give the murloc the glasses .
