Collecting while leveling an alt- battlestones?

Hey guys!

I've decided to level a 90 alt part of the way by collecting pets that I didn't have time for in MoP (also need many from other xpacs).

My question to you is should I keep fighting pets to get the right breed in rare quality or move on and use a stone? I haven't done many tamer battles, so I am unaware how plentiful they are or aren't to come by.

Thanks!

You can get a flawless battlestone (any pet family) every other day from your garrison menagerie. It's never been easier to upgrade non-rare pets.

If you do Menagerie Daily and the 6 trainers on Draenor thats 32 Pet Charms per day ,and it takes less than 30 minutes if you get a route sorted

Ashlei (SMV) > Vesharr (Spires) > Talador > Nagrand > Frostfire > Gorgrond is the order i do it in

That's 2 flawless stones per day so an extra 2 rares at least.

In other words, don't worry TOO much about the rarity of the pets you find, I'd focus more on finding the breeds you want then stoning them should you need.

you can also do the menagerie dailies on any toon that has unlocked the menagerie (think the dailies outside of the garrison are accountwide) so if you have multiple toons at 100 with a menagerie, it's even faster (1 stone every two days for every 100 with the menagerie). I'm stoning pets i could be grinding simply because i have nothing else to spend my tokens on.

This applies to all of the Draenor trainers, if you want to make those rounds daily. :)

Wait, are you saying I can do each trainer on multiple toons? I am aware of the menagerie daily being available for every 100, but didn't realize the trainers were the same.

IIRC the Draenor trainer dailies are not the same as the Menagerie daily. The trainer ones are account-wide, so you can only do them once a day.

Now that I have Menagerie 3, I stopped collecting for rares and started to collect for Breeds instead. If I am looking for a specific battle pet in the wild I would rather have a junk battle pet of the right breed than a rare battle pet of the wrong breed.

I'm actually getting At least 1.5 Battle Stones on average per day with my main (and only) level 100 account. And it takes about 20 minutes time to do it.

9 Charms from the Menagerie (8 from completing the quest and there is usually a 9th Charm in the Bag you get for completing the daily)

At least 16 Battle Stones from the extremely easy to get to Draenor Tamors (Frostfire, Talador, Shadowmoon Valley and Spires).

That's 25 right there and takes me about 20 minutes to do everyday.

If I have extra time in the morning I'll get Gorgond but I tend to get lost finding that one. It looks like it's right next to the Beastwatch FP but I tend to get lost. If I did that one it would put me at 29, just one shy of 2 battle stones.

I did Nagrand Tamer once but for the life of god I can't remember how I got there because it's past a proving ground that's filled with a bunch of top notch 100 killers that tend to wipe out my priest. I need to figure out the easier way to get there so I tend to skip that. If I knew how to easily get there I would be getting 2 battle stones a day.

I have found started new characters help level my new level pets. Now that I just got my 75th level 25 pet I now need to get my low level stuff leveled. I have a ton of highly rated stuff that needs leveled.

Abbotta, the one in Nagrand is in the ring of blood (or whichever is the lvl 100 one in the northern part of nagrand. Anyway, iirc you can just be on your mount and run past all the ogres in the initial area and once you get to the actual area part they're neutral so you don't have to worry about them. Granted I've only gone there on my guardian druid but I can't imagine them being that hard if you just ride by, but I certainly could be wrong. Now if you're trying to take a non lvl 98+ then I can see that being an issue maybe. I haven't really done the zone trainers much just because of time issues and that one is kind of out of the way.
