It's been a long time since I was new, but I think my first one was the Great Horned Owl- Yes, I rolled a Night elf.

Silver Tabby. As a level 10, completely new to the game, I spent nearly all my money on it.

And it was worth every last copper.

My first pet ever was the Siamese cat that dropped for me in oldskool Deadmines, waaaay back in Vanilla.

I have no idea. I'm still playing my first character, and I started playing her at launch. So ... maybe one of the owls? I remember dying my way through Wetlands to Ironforge to Stormwind to get the cats, way back when, so they could have been first.

Mine was the Hawk Owl which I got from Mezcaal as a gift when I started playing.

Panda Cub for me as well. Was my only pet until I got a disgusting Oozeling for 2g off the AH. That's when I started collecting!

I'm pretty sure my first pet was one of the cats from Elwynn. Then I found out about the white kitten and I just had to have it! I still wish my first pet was the panda though!

I think mine was either the silver tabby which I bought to match my hunter pet or I might have bought an owl when I was still in the Night Elf starter zones.

I don't remember exactly which but one of the cats from Elwynn. I was jealous of everyone with their collectors edition pets and wanted one too. I have no idea how that lead to my entire bank being filled with pets.

My first pet was either the Orange Tabby Cat or the Cornish Rex Cat, I can't quite remember which is was. But my brother bought it for me when I first started playing and I was just sooooo thrilled to have a little feline companion following me around.

I'm pretty sure my first pet ever was actually the cockroach. Eww! I have since discovered... shall we say... cuter.. pets!

My first pet was one of the Stormwind cats followed by my Spirt darter (which is still my favorite!)

Oh jesus, the online mate that introduced me to wow gave me the horned owl...I was so chuffed with it. Lol, sometimes simple is best

I don't remember my first pet ever at all. I do however remember that getting speedy from children's week is what started my pet obsession! I love turtles!

I dont remember which cat but I do remember my first WoW pet being a cat. It was the best moment in WoW, just realizing I could have pets!! The rest is history haha

My first pet was the Winter Reindeer I received from under the tree during Winter Veil.

Due to my great efforts at keeping down peer pressure, I didn't start WoW till about halfway through BC...I remember when I stumbled my little noob rear into the Dragonhawk vendor...Red Dragonhawk Hatchling nabbed my attention and my 50 silver.

my very first pet was the bombay kitty given as a gift to me for my orc hunter. i couldn't believe how awesome the idea of something that was "just for show" was. not to mention how adorable it was! my first fancy pet was a dark whelpling :3

A guildie sent me a mechanical squirrel shortly after launch. The one that got me into truly collecting was the White Kitten, though. At first I collected only rare drop and quest pets--when they became learnable I picked up all the vendor and recipe pets shortly after.
