Blizzard loves it when things take a while. Means you'll keep sending them money every month. Curse them for introducing Pokemon to Wow, it's just so much fun.

It is indeed a grind, one that i am can honestly say i will be glad to have done in a month or so. Best way to do it is by setting small weekly targets.

I just stopped leveling. It's just taking too much time. I have a few pets at 25 that I like and will level up a few more that look interesting, but leveling up 500+ pets from 1 to 25? No way.

Best way is to get others to level your pets for you and just level your own BoP pets.

Don't forget that you'll be able to use leveling battle-stones in WoD. It's only one level per stone, but it helps a little. :)

If you're still leveling pets after WoD launches you'll also gain experience for your toon. That is if Blizz hasn't changed that.

It's actually been streamlined in beta. Previous to patch 6.0.2, it took on the order of 90-100 battles to level once you hit the 85-90 area. In Beta, that was dropped to 50-55ish battles at level 90. I haven't tested on live 6.02 yet, but unless it is zone based, the levelling experience should have been changed as well.

I found that using a spider (brittle webbing with leech life) is wonderful for helping to level other pets; they're also caught in the wild so, bonus!

I have slowed down in levelling pets too only because with every new expansion Blizzard makes all the old stuff  easier!

I'm aiming to get my whole collection leveled up, just because it's something to do right now. Currently only have 34 of 580 (of pets that can actually be leveled) left to level up, so I'm thankfully almost done with this grind.

I'm happy they're adding the leveling stones, once you get a pet past 22 it takes a lot longer to level them up so being able to use the WoW version of rare candies will be nice :D

I level my pets as part of the Daily pet battles, many only require 2 pets to win so I rotate in a lower level 3rd.
Leveling your pets can be fun! Take a long view and not so overwhelming. 50x 25's 8-)

This grind for pet leveling has an interesting aspect to it for some. What I mean is that many people want to categorize us pet fanatics as either battlers or collectors. I suggest that certain collectors want to level their pets simply because after quantity (# of pets) it's the only other way to improve their collection (quality)

Along the way- even by default- you learn some strategies that apply to beating tamers...and for some others- to pet pvp

There are folks who like to collect unavailable breeds/ rare 'skins' ... so I feel like there's something in it for all tastes

Myself, I finished what I started but to level and upgrade my collection took 18 months of consistent participation ... I enjoyed every bit of it and look forward to upgrading new pets in Nov. :D good luck to all and stick with it :P

I have definitely worked out a system, where I level pets to a 12ish in the throne room and often get elemental stones(only spot I get stones from battles), then will use pandara strider battles to 18, then the trainers get me the rest of the way. then I usually have 2 pets that I level up from the other trainers each day. I got 7 to 25 yesterday with pretty little effort. thank goodness for the pandaren spirits, they give some awesome EXP. wish they gave us some more exp for the beasts of fable

Which throne room is this?

Just as a note of interest. The Pandaren Spirit tamers give the same amount of EXP as the other Pandaria tamers.

Also as a side note: The "sweet spot" for gaining EXP on a low level (carry pet) vs the higher level tamers is level 10/11. Level 10/11 pets get the most EXP from Pandaren Spirit Tamers, normal Pandaren Tamers, Cataclysm Tamers, and Northrend Tamers. Pets that are both higher and lower than level 10/11 gain less experience. This will still be true for the WoD tamers as well.

Just a quick reference chart when fighting level 25 enemy pets (tamer or wild):
level 24 exp gained is unique (lowest amount of EXP awarded)
level 23 exp gained is unique
level 22 exp gained is unique
level 21 exp gained is unique
level 1 exp gained = level 20 exp gained
level 2 exp gained = level 19 exp gained
level 3 exp gained = level 18 exp gained
level 4 exp gained = level 17 exp gained
level 5 exp gained = level 16 exp gained
level 6 exp gained = level 15 exp gained
level 7 exp gained = level 14 exp gained
level 8 exp gained = level 13 exp gained
level 9 exp gained = level 12 exp gained
level 10 exp gained = level 11 exp gained (highest amount of EXP awarded)

I only mention this because, long term (# of hours spent) you will take longer than you need to because all the bonus EXP from pet treat buffs that you could be multiplying is being lost to wild battles instead of tamers. You might consider levelling wilds up to 10, tamers between 10-24 (and some really close to 24) using pet treats (make sure the 50% treats are used on the pets closest to level 10 and 11), and wild battles to finish off to 25.

Haha, I was wondering this too.

Unless it's a euphemism for multi-tasking in the bathroom... ;)
