I hope this is the right place to ask this. Has anyone had their pet score disappear off of WoWProgress? And if so, did it come back eventually?

Yeah, me, a couple of friends and the top scorers on my realm vanished mysteriously, one at a time... really not sure what's going on with that, it seems to be progressively eating up more people though. o.O

Haven't seen any of them come back, but I'm hoping that they'll fix it soon.

Mine disappeared too but not too bothered about it, more interested in collecting to be honest.

Aye, if you refresh just now your score is removed. I suspect they're updating.

Either that or it's just broken.

My score has disappeared as well.

It seems like an API call that dumps pet information has been altered in some way and is causing WoWProgress to think any given character (after update) has no pets. That's my suspicion at least given that one of my addons could not properly read my pet data.

Along that line of thinking, when I went straight to my pets page on wowprogress, it said that I did not have any pets.

Yep: I emailed them, no idea when or if they'll answer. I don't care, I just want them to fix it.

How are points calculated? Number of pets? Unique pets? Pet levels?

Points on Wowprogress are based on your pets' levels and quality. Duplicate pets don't count (but they used to lol). You can see the full list of values per level and quality here.

When duplicate pets were counted towards a pet score, it caused the problem of players gaming the system and cheating their way to the top. It was really easy to simply capture every rare in Pandaria (highest level capturable pets), regardless if you had one already or not. From there, it was a breeze to quickly level them all to 25.

Whether or not this should count towards your overall progress is debatable, but in the end I guess Wowprogress sided with those that felt it wasn't fair and changed it.

It only would not unfair if capture duplicate pets is impossible for the majority. Everyone can capture and store 3 pets from one kind, and because of the existence of breeds, it's not hard to understand the reason behind this(capture 3 same kind but wtih different breeds for the sake of specific bppvp needs)

I still don't see how that to be consider "cheatings"

Oops, forgot to come back and check this. Yes, it seems to be working again, yay!

Alas mine is still not working....

5 emails later and a new login account, a change to every option to force through a new refresh and updating upto 5 times and still nada.....

Guess they do not read simple and polite emails

I've asked them not to add you Zooster, I'm trying to climb up the Silvermoon rankings and don't need the competition :p
