Weed out the poor in collection

Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this...new to it all hahaha (nice to hide behind a noodle intro right xD )

This is my small dilemma; I have poor quality pets in my collection, but I might also have them as duplicates with ofc better quality pets...but how can I use the stat sorter to give me a list of those in my collection that are unique pet quality poor?
I have tried to twink this, but it seems to not allow me this option. Either that or I am just daft...viable option x)

I am just wondering if there is a way to do this, since...with over 600 pets I am abit squemish to manually silt through them all..couchpotato *cough*. I will however not delete the other pets either, since I need pets of all levels to be able to find the right range to the ones I battle...so this is ehm...a luxury problem really.

I so hope someone has time to answer this, since would love to weed out the poor, then the normal grade pets, in my collection in a smarter way then what I am up to now. Since would make me able to make a chart to where these pets are ingame and not waste time travelling back and forth when first on the go :) Its hard work to be lazy x)

Thank you so much in advance, and happy hunting all :D
Ps; thank you so much for this site!?! It has made a petcollectors life so much easier :D

I use PetJournal Enhanced to do this. I agree that it would be cool for the site to have a tool for this.

I've never found a filter on this site that would do exactly what I want for that. You can do duplicate Included but it only give you what it considers the duplicates and not the non-duplicate version of the pet. Sometimes I wanted to keep a duplicate either because it was a better breed even tho it was lower level or even lower quality at the time.

Pet Journal Enhanced works well. Just remove the pets with quantity 1 or that are tradable and sort by name and you can go through your duplicate pets pretty quickly and easily and release any you don't want to keep.

On the the other hand you can have up to 1000 pets now so there is no real need for you to release duplicates at this point.

Hello and welcome to forums posting!

I've been using: [ petsear.ch/Pets ] website (just google it). Under the Personal pets tab, you log in your character name and realm. It offers you sorting options for your collection. You can also look at what cageable you have doubles of and what you need to upgrade. I've used the site for over a year now..easy and safe. Good luck

Wow, thanks guys :D

I will check this out, thank you so much for the reply!

If this is something that more would fine handy perhaps its a possibility for warcraftpets to build this into its options as well, the sorter is there allready. This have given me good tips on how to handle this, will check it out straight away :D

Battling pets without a set team (using terrible turnip etc) makes me keep a widw range of pets at all levels, since I don't have a bucketload of petbandages (or at least never on the char I am using when I need it haha), or find myself rather out of reach of a stablemaster, so I won't release pets unless I get better quality of the ones I have. Though this makes it a challenge to handle this kind of sorting in a statistical matter.

Glad you guys could help me out with this, got to admit my guild has scheduled an intervention to guide me back to the world of the more sane collectors side.....I think they have no clue...I need them over on our side x) Crazy peeps have more fun :D

I just use the in-game filter in the pet journal - sort by rarity, then scroll down and check each pet one by one (by typing the name into the search box to check if there's more than one). It sounds long-winded but it really doesn't take that long at all. :)

I'm with Graven, you can use the sort by rarity option in the pet journal.

within game:
1. shift+p > filter > collected > pet families > uncheck all > check the family you want (aquatic) so only that family shows up
2. filter > sources > uncheck all > check the source you want (pet battle)
3. filter > sort by > name (if you name your pets then try rarity)
this method makes it far more manageable to go through a high quantity of pets

i have several addons for pet battles from curse:
Battle Pet BreedID
Battle Pet Daily Tamer
Collectinator
Livestock
PetBattle Teams
PetTracker

of those, PetTracker is best for keeping track of quality level of wild pets per zone as it will show on mini-map what you are missing (note that not all pets shown are available to obtain as rare without a stone but nothing is perfect)

Druzy has some good advice for using the in-game filter.

And it depends on your goals. For example, at one stage I had a lot of common and uncommon pets won through pet battles just so I had the pet represented. If your interest is to upgrade those pets, filter by Sources-Pet Battles, then in the search box, type in a zone name. That makes it easy to move from zone to zone and look for rare versions, and I did a lot of leveling with those kinds of battles.

And the advice to filter on family is also great if you're trying to level all of your pets to 25. It makes it seem to be less of a chore when you only see a small number that need leveling.

I'll go against the grain - the only add on I use is BattlePet Breed ID, but I'm an add on minimalist. I tried one to organize pets in to battle groups, but it was just easier for me to just constitute the group quickly by searching for the pet names I wanted. The built in filters and search in combination work pretty well for me for most things.

But again, it depends on your own goals. I'm a completionist, so I have moths and snails that represent all of the possible skins.

Been tinkering about with the new tools you all have given me, and it's really boosted my zest for this :D
At least its not so daunting anymore, if not I actually managed to get another poor to the collection (but it's the Minfernal that's never ever there when I am so really happy still x)

This has been so helpfull, so thank you all for your time and replies, made my day..or rather my week :D Happy hunting all!

Grats on the Minfrnal... quality matters not with a pet so elusive :)

That's one of the ones I stoned to rare. I felt it was my duty: so there's more around for everyone else
