Could it be that you have it out following you AND in the battle? Sometimes I can hear my companion doing things and even see it run away from me (like Mulgore or Darting Hatchling) even if it's not one of my 3 battle pets. Just ambient sound. Not really part of the battle.

Just a thought? Haven't tried it myself.

Hrm, looks like you might be right there, made sure it wasnt out and no noises so far. Thats a relief.

Do you have to own Diablo and the CE Expansion, or can you get him from simply buying the CE Expansion?

you need to own the base game, its not a standalone expansion.
