I'd love to see a player-chosen pet included in the game. Here are few concepts I posted on my site last year:

I would love love love more than anything to have a sugar glider in game hehe.. we have squirrels, bunnies, prairie dogs, rats.. lots of small furry critters.. we also have lots of gliding and flying pets between birds, insects, whelps etc.. sugar gliders are the best of BOTH worlds since they are furry and they can glide! :> imagine a pet that would climb up things around you then glide back down to you :>

First thing.... omg omg omg a baby raven lord and a baby talbuk <3
I know we have a few whelps but I would love to see a baby stone drake.
A little rocket of some sort.
A little motorbike.
Baby mountain goat.
Seal.
One of those stegosaurus type mobs in un'goro a little chubby version of that would be soo cute.
A spider like the forest spiders (hairy ones).

Worgen racial pet ? IMHO already there... worg pup and wolvar pup do the job very well.

I'd like to summon several pets at once (maybe only for a short time with cooldown just in case Blizzard fears the servers might get overrun by pets).

For exampe I've got all 4 crokilisks. Or summon all baby raptors at once ^^

Racial pets are the pets that have a vendor associated with that race's capital, like the cats from elwynn forest or owls from darnassus. The worg pup fits the worgen race, but it's not a true racial pet.

I want more baby animals! I'd like to see a baby boar and a hyena pup! <3

I want a pet Lich King! Or maybe a li'l Yogg-Saron?

I want a tentacle pet! It could move like [pet]Lil' Ragnaros[/pet].

I was questing in Redridge and saw the blueish-greyish foxes. The Fox Kit is a pipe dream, so why not add another?

As an alchemist, I think an assistant would be nice... You know.. kinda like Igor.

As others have mentioned more crafting pets would be stellar. Cooking would fit well, as someone mentioned a gingerbread man could easily be implemented here. That or a hideous blob pet made from some of Last Weeks Mammoth mixed with some Haunted Herring and Sour Goats Cheese . Doesn't that sound yummy?

Also Tailoring should certainly be able to make some sort of magical stuffed doll or puppet.

As for Leather working and Blacksmithing... Hmm well a floating enchanted sword and/or staff could work for BS. Leather working... Maybe some taxidermy? Yeah sounds a little gross but it could make for some neat zombi looking pets, like the undead Grimmr-Hound

Herbalism, well that's simple, more plant pets

Alchemy, well some blob pets would certainly not be out of place nor would a pet like the Kirin Tor Familiar (made from all the chemical vapors)

And Jewlcrafting, well just make some of the figurines pets and well that takes care of that. I don't know about you but I'd love a Black Pearl Panther pet .

A pink dragon! That would have been perfect for Love is in the Air.
Also, different colors of murlocs.... Regular murlocs, not mutated ones.... But orange or green or purple!
And baby naga, like the ones that follow you during one of the goblin starter quests, so cute!!

You know, yesterday was the day I had my Brown Snake out (I rotate a different pet every day. XD )... and it got me thinking that I would like a Boa Constrictor pet.

Since Cata release I want this one, as a companion or hunter pet:

They're critters in Gilneas and Stonetalon Mountains. Any chance?

Alchemy: Different colored oozes (Yellow, purple, and blue)
Inscription: Faction Kite

Archaeology:
Pandaren: Jeweled oriental animals
Draenei: Naaru (after releasing it from a puzzle box or jar)
