Datamining on the next expansion has begun!

  • Dart
  • Demon Goat
  • Francois
  - Tottle will likely be the CE/Digital Deluxe pet
  
  - Lots of new icons, including many baby/cute critters. Hopefully these belong to lots of new adorable pets!

Alas there doesn't seem to be a green paw anywhere yet I suppose that is OK since all the pets they give you are level 1 and the map notes say all the zone pets are level 25.

Yeah, I haven’t seen any, either. I have a random assortment of lvl 1, lvl 8, and lvl 25 pets, though. Very bizarre.

There’s no character or account copy yet, right?

Which server are you on?

Sylvanas (a horde druid and alliance mage). No character copy I see. All my pets are level 1 (25 of them.)

I did a pet quest for Scratchy. Alas it is still a placeholder.

Found squirrels at Carver Harbour (drustvar). Level 25 but no backline pets

Came across a pet battling hangout in Dazar'alor in Zuldazar.
NPC's hanging out with their pets running around. Some pet teams are battling.
A couple of vendor NPC's but currently pet treats and costumes, nothing new.

Source for Dart is a questline you do for the frogs in Nazmir, pet is rewarded when completing [url=http://wowhead.com/quest=49382]It Seems You've Made a Friend[/url]. Rare quality when I learned it.

Early on in the questline in Vol'dun you pick up a pet.
Currently, a PH pet called Poda - it is a ferret!

You remember where? I have quests all over the place but I don't wanna do them as long max level stays 119...

It was part of the first 5-10 quests out of the Vulpera Hideaway when you first travel by caravan to Vol'dun. The quest is to heal a bunch of Polecats. I am not sure if you grab the quest or I think it may be a very short questline.

I am also stuck at 119 and don't want to do anymore just yet.

Okay did it with another premade to save XP, quest that will reward a ferret pet is [url=http://wowhead.com/quest=50739]Missing Business[/url] given by the child Vulpera [url=http://wowhead.com/npc=135012]Vivi[/url] near Vulpera Hideaway.

Like Throatslit said, right now you only get a placeholder item and no pet, but I like the idea... better to have this in my bags on Alpha (until they change it into a teach-me-a-battle-pet item in a future build) than getting nothing or a a poor quality placeholder and re-do these quests (I think you have to quest to discover the Vulpera Hideaway and then VivI is optional) on another character when they are done with the pet

Anyone know if the new fat cats/fluffy ones are going to be vendor or are we going to get one via quest?

We have to wait for future alpha/beta builds... new pet battle content is nearly non-existent so far.

Wandered back to Dazar'alor in Zuldazar, on the NE corner of the main temple, where all the pet trainers, Pet Vendors (PH items at the moment) and lots of pets are running around.

There is a small podium on the northern end, and on it is a Yellow clawed Challenge post - "Click to start a pet battle".
I did.

Team of three popped which were -
25 Mr. Terrible (rare elemental)
25 Carroteye (rare elemental)
25 Sloppus (rare Magic)

Same as the Garrison team.

Beat the team and got... kudos?

Looks like it will be the Horde "Pet Area" in BfA?

Poda - Vol'dun quest (didn't notice it in journal last build though I saw it mentioned above)
Smoochums - Drustvar Quest
Spawn of Merektha - Dungeon boss drop

There is a model for a mummy pet and icons for a wicker beast pet and a butterfly pet (see at MMO Champion) -
Model for the wicker beast pet and butterfly pets is at Wowhead.

Wowhead had two dungeon drop items(Filthy Bucket and Intact Chicken brain) so these are they

Found what I thought was the quest fo Smoochums, but ended up with a trinket and Smoochums was dead during the encounter at the end
