Any update plans for the guide? Since almost all the pet trainer pets got 100% hit chance :/

Certainly going to be worth going through and cleaning things up for that (noticed my Anub idol now has a 100% hit chance which greatly removes frustration from fights using him). Unfortunately most of my add-ons don't appear to have been updated yet (especially the ones for the journal / teams) so I'm waiting on those to do anything serious.

The original author for both PetBattleJournalEnhanced and PetBattleTeams has been mia for a year or so. I know someone posted a hand made patch of PBT that works for some (but not everyone), but I don't know if they plan on continually updating it or if it was just a quick fix kind of thing. You might start looking around at the options.

I've moved on to Rematch for both Journal and Teams. While I think the options in PBJE were better, the Rematch author is actively maintaining and updating (updates wowinterface.com page more often). I do feel the teams portion of Rematch is superior to PBT (and it can import all your PBT teams in one button press if you want to try it), but some of that is just subjective on my part.

You definitely should look at how the Jademist Dancer works vs Farmer Nishi now. It's pretty obscene. I actually have to let him die on purpose so I can do a proper carry pet swap. I use Jademist Dancer + Something that has high health + explode. Lots of variants on that strategy though.

I'm also very interested in seeing how to adapt the guide or tactics to be able to carry pets in 6.0 with the tamers. It was quite disheartening yesterday to see how poorly some of the previously perfect tactics were holding up with changes to hit.

Which did you have trouble with specifically? I've been doing them all without any noticeable difference.

I've gone thru the entire guide, using the "primary" team in each case, as a first step in prepping for WoD. So far with only a few exceptions all of the teams have worked exactly as written. The change in hit chance helps remove RNG from many of the fights, but I think there may have been slight changes in attack damage since I last looked at this (or something). Here's the short form of what I've seen thus far:

Burning Pandaren Spirit: Takes 21 rounds, not 17. Might be worth changing Anub to Crush, Stoneskin, Deflection, Crush x3 (skip a turn if a Crush crits, though). because Lift-Off cannot miss it might be worth deflecting it.

Ti'un the Wanderer: With the explode team using 2x tier 2 pets and a tier 1 lantern the 2nd explode only did 20 more health than he had. I don't have a max health blackfuse, but it's looking like they may have buffed his health. Not sure my older team with 2x tier 3 pets would be able to win consistently

Wastewalker Shu: Was a little dicey w/misses (as always), might want to always cocoon strike vs rupture, need to do it more to see, still won though so maybe no change needed

Hyuna of the Shrine: Took Bitex2, Presence, Bitex2 to beat Skyshaper, otherwise was fine

Major Payne: Cogblade/Imp won even with the Cogblade getting stunned once, so looks still viable, but this one has always been questionable to some.

Bordin Steadyfist: the first horrible changes felt here - team won 50% of the battles, if the 1st pet gets 3-hit attacks off then Snarly dies too early, might need to replace this team, it used to be a slam dunk and now it's not.

Goz Banefury: this teams changes have been significant in effect. Following the guide I lost 5 of 6 fights, crits wreck the tonk, making it so he cannot survive the spider charges 4 hits. The only win was with a crit on shock and awe so Ion cannon could finish him off even with his heal. Definitely needs work, maybe not using Snarly and instead using a higher power croc will work, or even start the fight with a 500+ health carry pet, not sure.

The 2 fights that were the worst don't give a reward bag and give lower XP, so they may be worth skipping for now, or always use level 20+ carry pets so they can finish the job, until new strats are identified. Not going to alter the guide yet (though the sen'jin fetish strat for the burning PS is definitely good and clean)

I've been doing the tamer circuit (though not the BoF) pretty much every night since the patch, and so far it seems like all the strats still work just as well as they did pre-patch. The accuracy changes mainly seemed to just eliminate the frustration of losses due to miss streaks. Some of the fights do take a round longer due to lower damage hits, but I didn't see any instances of that extra round significantly undermining the strats.

With Bordin, not sure what's different about that. In my experience, Snarly always has issues if Ruby uses Stone Rush and Spark on the first two turns, or Crystal Overload first, but it's very rare to see that in my experience. The guide team is always a slam dunk if Ruby uses a damaging attack and followed by crystal Overload (barring a crit), and is really only in danger if Ruby uses Crystal Overload followed by Stone Rush.

On Goz, honestly I've always found him a pain trying to do everything with just Snarly and the Tonk. I usually use the trick of saving a high-level carry pet for him (I use the Cata/Wrath tamers for my lvl 23 or 24 carries anyway; the xp works out almost perfectly). I have the carry pet finish off Amethyl if Snarly didn't kill him, and then have the carry pet soak Helios' opening Web. Without the web effect, Helios is no threat to the Tonk.

Using the strats in this thread? All of the abilities highlighted in the major payne strats already had 100% and weren't changed with the patch. The only change I can see is that Shock and Awe and Windup went from 95% hit to 100 with no damage change, so that really isn't a major change.

Or are you using a different team than the two listed here?

Sorry for not replying sooner. The first one I encountered with problems with the Thundering Pandaren Spirit trainer. I have been running with the whelp and zeppelin team and I was absolutely taken apart. I had problems with the Burning Pandaren Spirit trainer as well, though I managed to get through eventually.

So I normally use a different team now (slightly slower but more reliable), but I used to run this team a while back. Nothing felt different from before. There are possible chances for you to fail, but after 15 attempts tonight (Cancelling out at the end to try again), I didn't have one attempt that actually failed (I could still see it happen with an unlucky crit though). Are you sure you are following the strat completely? Also, are you using an S/S raptor? I agree it can fail though. I switched to a slightly more reliable team because of that, but failing every time still shouldn't happen on the team listed.

I still run this team a lot since the patch. What part is killing you? The whelk should (you said whelp, but I assume you are using the snail) kill the elemental easily and get a couple of hits on the ooze before dying. I'm assuming you are having trouble with the Zepp part, but wanted to see which pet was killing you?

For Jeremy Feasel

vs Judgement

- Tail Sweep > Tail Sweep > (Tail sweep if missed once) > *Healing Flame > Tail Sweep til Judgement dies

become in 6.0:

- Tail Sweep > Tail Sweep > Tail sweep > *Healing Flame > Tail Sweep

If you're having troubles with Major Payne, I suggest trying Stencil's tactic. It's what I've been using ever since I read about it and it has never failed. I've used Lil' Bling + Grasslands Cottontail (S/S for 260 power & 325 speed; Flurry / Dodge / Burrow), but my friend is using Arctic Hare S/B and it works just as well. Lil' Bling usually kills the first two (Smackthat.EXE, Extra Plating, Make it Rain) and often also soaks Entangling Roots.
Stencil wrote:vs Grizzle the usual order was: Extra Plating > Make it Rain > Smack > Smack > Make it Rain. Use Extra Plating at start against Beakmaster as well.
As Stencil says above, I use Extra Plating at the start against Beakmaster, and after that just smack Beakmaster in the face. On rare occasions Beakmaster kills Lil' Bling, but in those cases Beakmaster is already in his resurrection round and the rabbit can kill him in one or two turns, depending on whether you want to play safe and dodge damage with it.

I haven't yet encountered a scenario where Lil' Bling would die so that the next pet to be swapped in would take damage from Entangling Roots. I'm not sure that's possible? Correct me if I'm wrong :) The only issue might be if Grizzle stuns in his first turn (if he casts Rampage first, he will Hibernate because of the damage he takes and won't use his stun) AND Beakmaster stuns with his Shock AND does high damage with his Wind-Up. Not sure if that has ever happened to me, but that sounds like it could be a wipe.

Still, RNG is RNG but I should've failed multiple times by now if this wasn't a good strat, and it has always worked for me :)

Pleasure is mine. :)

For the remaining pets, the strat is as usual (now 15 rounds in place of 14, but very easy).
