Re: Help Me with the Celestial Tournament
For what it is worth Flopsyhunt, I compared our collections and aside from Chi-Chi (which I only use on Taran Zhu for fun), you don't appear to be missing any pets I use for the tournament (and there are many strats for Taran Zhu). I didn't go through your collection to see what was levelled to 25 (...

Re: Carry Pet Experience Reference
As an update, I have moved the first post down and replaced it with the info I have obtained via testing. I think it is pretty complete. See what yall think. Any questions on it?

Re: What's the best roach?
The comments section at wowhead for some of the roaches has a pretty good breakdown of all the stats and breeds for each type of roach: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=61169#comments Since there are so many pets with this type of moveset, I tend to pick the best pets for a particular breed (if going for ...

Re: Complete Celestial Tournament Walkthru and Pet list
Elfuego, great guides by the way. If you are up for any suggestions: Ion Goldbloom: It might alter your team a bit, and I am not sure how interested you would be in using celestial pets, but Xu-fu owns the flying pet in two rounds usually and can usually kill the 2nd pet as well: 1. Prowl as flyer g...

Re: Carry Pet experience forumla updated anywhere?
Mind you, I haven't tested against any really low level tamers yet. I've tested against some outlands tamers, so that is as far as I got at this point. I think for me, long term, I will be levelling pets up to 10/11 using Pandaria wild battles, then I will pop all my food buffs and run each level 10...

Re: Carry Pet experience forumla updated anywhere?
That was actually the first equation I referenced in my opening post. The problem I had with it is that it didn't fit the data recorded. After playing with it and reading that section you linked over again, I realized that was for 3 reasons: 1. The equation is incorrect in that it lists opponent_lev...

Re: Help Me with the Celestial Tournament
I'm not sure there are 3-5 particular pets that are needed though. There are a wide (I mean a really wide) variety of pet teams for each tamer and celestial in the tournament. And there are still many more that likely aren't documented as well. There's strategies out there for using only cageable pe...

Re: Carry Pet experience forumla updated anywhere?
So this is the base equation I think that is correct for the Pandaria tamers: 3375 + 262.5*x - 12.5*(x^2) Where x is your pet's level. That is without the safari hat or food buffs. This gives base experience values versus Pandaria tamers to be: 1 - 3625 2 - 3850 3 - 4050 4 - 4225 5 - 4375 6 - 4500 7...

Re: Carry Pet experience forumla updated anywhere?
when you say 24,93, what is does the ,93 portion signify? It's not a notation that I am familiar with. Is it representative of the decimal point, or something else? I'm more trying to nail down the equation used. This will probably more beneficial to long term levelling than getting specific pets to...

Re: Carry Pet experience forumla updated anywhere?
***EDIT*** This post is old data/info. The guide is currently found in the top post only. I may expand into this post as size is needed. As an update: The experience gained from tamers in Northrend, Cataclysm, and Pandaria is indeed all quadratic in nature. I've spent the last couple days gathering...

Carry Pet Experience Reference
***** Completely Out of Date as of patch 9.1.5 ***** A carry pet is one that is included with 1 or 2 higher level pets with the intent that the higher level pets will "carry" the lower level pet through the battle to help it get a larger experience boost and thus level faster. All pets gain experie...

Re: Possible glitches that I don't understand
I've noticed you lose your immortal round on the Valkyr if you use Unholy Ascension prior death? Thats new or what? I think if you cast unholy ascension after the "killing" blow, you don't die because the undead racial prevents your health from going to zero. If you cast it prior to being "killed" ...

Re: Bandage Drop Nerf? Celestial Coin Catch-22
I'm guessing just bad RNG as I have gotten 15+ for the last few days. I got 17 today just from the pandaria tamers alone.

Re: Use for Soothe?
When I was figuring out my own strats on the celest tourny, I found that a black lamb that cast sooth on the first round of chi-chi would prevent ethereal for a bit, allowing a lot more damage (he didn't seem to use it on his first "awake" round for whatever reason). My old strat was sooth->chew->st...

Re: 5.4 Guide to Master Tamer (levelling) + Beasts of Fable
Have you ever looked at using a hopling for Major Payne? He can occasionally solo him given good RNG, but is solid on the first two pets. The trick is it is reaction based: 1. Lead off with the Poison Attack 2. If he stuns you, pass 3. if he does damage to you, backflip to interrupt the rampage (thi...

Re: Need a Sudden Death mechanic?
I would go simpler but more brutal:
Healing reduced to 50% (or even 0%)
At the end of each round, every pet alive receives 25% max health as damage (cannot be dodged/blocked/missed/or avoided in any way).
Starts at X rounds (not sure what would be good here...never really count rounds).

Re: Strategy For Chi-Chi?
The water spirit + chrominius strat seems to be the fasted and most reliable for me and both pets live, so they can be used again if desired. So far Chi-Chi has died on Round 5 each week.

Re: Infected Squirrel
I don't have any suggestions on counters, but an interesting PvE and sometimes PvP team combo is Chi-Chi + Infected Squirrel. Have Chi-Chi Wild Magic + Feign to the Squirrel (have to pick 3rd pet with lower health of course) then Creeping Fungus + Stampeded. I actually use this against Taran Zhu in ...
