Re: Need a Sudden Death mechanic?
I just wanted to clear up a common misconception. Just because someone is playing with a couple healers or other defensive pets, it does not mean they are trying to stall and win via concession. I totally agree. I typically play a team of S/S Quiraji Guardling, P/P Emperor Crab, and H/S Restless Sh...

Re: Need a Sudden Death mechanic?
Is this really a problem? I think if your games are regularly going 50+ rounds, it may be because your own team doesn't have enough offense. That said, I wouldn't mind if the round timer dropped to five seconds or something for people who take too long to select moves. I think taking slow turns is a...

Re: Idol/crawdad teams
The point of the draw is the same as the point of a draw in every other competitive game that has them. To discourage people from toxic strategies such as one meant to prolong a game for 50+ turns. To me, "toxic strategies" means things like taking unnecessarily long turns, or maybe playing the old...

Re: Idol/crawdad teams
It's not that the team has to be hard to beat, it's just that you need certain elements in your team if you want to have any hope of winning in a reasonable amount of time. Idol/crawdad does force you to have certain elements in your team to reliably beat. But so do a lot of other teams. And idol/c...

Playing double/triple healing teams is a dick move, I'll be honest. If there were actual stakes and it was actually performing...

Re: Idol/crawdad teams
Idol/crawdad isn't that hard to beat. Just do enough damage/stuns to the crawdad whenever it's out that they can't afford to use wishes on other pets. The only rough thing about this team right now is the unbalanced high hit chance on demolish, but there are still plenty of pets that can go toe to t...

Re: Counter: Haunt - Righteous Inspiration
My core team is: -P/P Emperor Crab with Snap, Shell Shield, and Healing Wave; -H/S Restless Shadeling with Arcane Blast, Plagued Blood, and Phase Shift; and -S/S Quiraji Guardling with Crush, Sandstorm, and Blackout Kick. So my normal counter to this is to lead off with my Quiraji Guardling and use ...

Re: Murkalot bugged?
I wouldnt say Murk or Kovok have been nerfed to the ground. Murk still works with Righteous Inspiration to buff another pet, or himself for Falling Murloc if last man alive. He have uses, just not blatantly overpowered more. Dont claim murk was nerfed into uselessness, it was mainly bugfixing RI, a...

Re: Murkalot bugged?
If they continue to be unable to deal with both Blizzard has done a pretty good job with nerfs to battle pets so far. Most of the previously nerfed pets are still viable. I think Murkalot, Kovok, and Fluxfire Feline are really the only pets that have ever been totally nerfed in to the ground. And I...

Re: The Murkapult
I feel like the murk/valk/kovok team can be countered by an aquatic with a shield, just like other valk teams. If you swap to a P/P emperor crab or a magical crawdad the turn the valk comes out, your pet shouldn't take more than 200 or so damage from the haunt. And unlike the standard valk teams, t...

Re: The Murkapult
Rather than bring down the two-handed nerf hammer on Murkalot, bring a smaller hammer down on him and another smaller hammer down on AoE. That would probably solve it without making anyone weep for the loss of either. Totally agree. I think removing the speed boost from Murk's damage bonus ability ...

Re: The Murkapult
I went a sort of disappointing but sort of ok 3-5 against Murkalot teams tonight (all Murkalot/Fossilized Hatchling/Kovok or variations) with the super defensive Sandstorm team I've been playing for months, consisting of: -S/S Quiraji Guardling with Crush, Sandstorm, and Blackout Kick; -S/H Reckless...

Re: Surge on crabs?
Depends how you use your crab. If you're using it with mechanicals, for example, you'll probably want surge to counter elementals. But if you're using it on a sandstorm team, snap is superior to surge because it deals a lot more damage through sandstorm. Also, I've had a lot of luck in PvP pairing a...

Re: Quiraji Guardling - what breed for PvP?
I got a speed and a power breed and plan on leveling both. I guess it really depends on how you want to use it. From my limited experience against them, they don't seem very tough, but that could've also been my opponent. Havent done much testing myself though I'd like to use it with the Crush/Sand...

Quiraji Guardling - what breed for PvP?
What breed are people using of this guy? I like speed to make Blackout Kick eat two of the opponent's turns. But beyond that, both health (humanoid bonus) and attack (bigger hits/better Sandstorm damage reduction) look good and I'm having trouble choosing between 5/15, 8/18, 9/19, and 11/21.

Re: Seriously when are they going to NERF direhorns!!
The trihorn shield is the weaker of the two ability options for that slot available to direhorns. If someone has trihorn shield on their direhorn, it means that they don't have primal cry. So as long as your pet's base speed is faster than theirs (which is 281 or less), it can't be stunned. Which ma...
