Re: No wonder nobody pvps

You know, this isn't about tamers. Nope I didnt! He said fly to halfhill which meant for me he meant that place because of the trainer..... No, I didn't. You know that very well. There's no way pvp is faster for levelling, the xp is the same as for pve battles (unless they changed it recently). The...

Re: Newcomer to the PvP Pet Battle World(and in general too

It's best to get started during pet week if you can, it has more pet varity and casual players. Outside the week it's mostly experienced people doing it. The most poplar pets are undeads and humanoids, followed by dragons and mechs, then flying and elementals, I would say. You will have to counter t...

Re: No wonder nobody pvps

No its not faster as you have to move there. It take 2-3 mins to get to Halfhill. Portal to shrine (everyone should have regular HS to shrine where all the portals are), and the flight down takes 90 seconds. Which you do once per toon for this. There's no way pvp is faster for levelling, the xp is ...

Re: Time to get Ban-Fu the Monk pet

With the changes on the PTR, by my calculations it will take 11 of the blue quest which gives 16 mill ap today to get to 52. Although it looks like it will be awhile before we get there, probably late fall before we reach the new cap. Also we don't have to research knowledge anymore, everyone will b...

Re: Bronze Whelpling

You should just buy it. Usually it's not worthwhile grinding for things unless they are expensive, because it's faster to farm the gold needed to buy it than it is to grind for the drop. Having a gathering profession helps, but isn't required. Some old stuff sells for alot, Volatile Fires are 90g on...

Re: Anti undead strategy?

Sear/Consume Magic can be effective assuming you are provided the opportunity. CC pets such as Fiendish Imps and Scalded Basilisk Hatchlings can delay a cast to the point of uselessness. It is possible to dispel Haunt on the first turn, though this is risky; if they do a basic attack or Ethereal in...

Re: No wonder nobody pvps

I think there should be an ever so tiny chance to get one of the prestige pets or other rare pets from legion content. (don't pvp myself outside the pet weekend). But part of the problem is that so many runs with the same team (ie Haunt). So you either run a counter team or do the same. And that's p...

Re: Bronze Whelpling

(which would imply one drop every 100 mobs on average, with anything above 140 being unusually poor luck) I wouldn't say that, you only have a 75% chance of getting something at a 1% drop rate after 140 kills. Maybe 300 kills would be a little bit unusual, still a 5% chance of not getting it at tha...

Re: Anti undead strategy?

I think you can use a pet who removes buffs and debuffs from you, such as Sear Magic. Not sure if that will kill the Haunt pet or just dispel it. You can also use a pet which does damage to the next pet to swap into battle, the true power of Haunt is the free swap. Or use an aqua pet, one with a shi...

Re: Bronze Whelpling

It should, yea, iirc it's a 1% drop rate. You sure your nephew is in the level 90 version of the zone?

Tbh it may be better getting it off ah, that way you'll get the breed you want. They used to be 5k in eu back in Wod.

Re: Predictions for 7.3/Argus patch?

Tbh, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the content. Either feel bad inside for not getting them all, or spend way too much time playing when I should do irl stuff. Anybody else feel the same?

My guess release will be late august/september, when vacation is over and the kids back in school.

Re: Pets that should be in the top 20 Battle pets but aren't

Interestingly, there are no magic or critters in the top 20 list. There are however six mechanicals and four dragonkins. And btw Ikky and Teroclaw Hatchling - I never bothered to level those pets after I obtained them. Felt they were junk Ikky and Teroclaw may not be strong on first look, but they h...

Re: Pets that should be in the top 20 Battle pets but aren't

I think there's a lot of confirmation bias in these rankings. When we got battlepets word quickly got around that Anubisath was the 'best' pet. So people got him, used him and found new uses for him. He was like bacon, he could be used everywhere, was even a guide using him on every trainer in Panda...

Re: Deadmines EZMode

The trash pets are mostly critters or flying or a mix of the two. So a great choice for third pet is the trusted Anubisath Idol, with Crush, Stoneskin and Deflection. Stoneskin protects against the critter's Stampede as well as the flying's Slicing Wind, while Deflection protects against the flying'...

You're right. I have two each of two of them :)

Seems tcg pets are down to 20k in US now because of the duping? In EU they have dropped a lot as well lately, below 100k now.

Re: Non-Howl Bomb Celestial Tournament Strat?

Against Chi-Chi a while ago I tried a HP Shimmershell Snail in anticipation of the howl nerf, with Ooze, Shield, and Dive. He took Chi down to well below half health. Once she was below 50% I planned to follow up with a Nexus Whelpling with Arcane Storm and Mana Surge but I got distracted and never ...

Re: Non-Howl Bomb Celestial Tournament Strat?

What Vakeetah said, basically, although I do it a bit differently. Against Yula, if you don't have Bigglesworth, but have an SS Bonkers (not the easiest one to get) this pet has a +dragonkin attack, Haymaker, with 50% hit chance. Start with this and if it misses abandon and go again. In the second s...

Re: Non-Howl Bomb Celestial Tournament Strat?

Zao is the easiest. At least now with the howl method on Chi-Chi gone. Generally none of them are hard because it's one pet. I felt some of the first fights was harder to figure out. Only Yula can be a problem for those who don't have Bigglesworth. Her 50% boss dmg reduction is applied first, then h...
