Re: Beat this team...

I haven's run across a comp quite like this and I appreciate your desire to use some non-top-tier pets. I can't suggest a comp but I will say that I like the Vengeful Porcupette when fighting against rabbit/undead combos. You can't always run a pet that is faster than a rabbit. But the Porcupette al...

Re: Cursed spirit and Dark Gazer.

Yeah howl bomb with emerald proto is the go to easy way for all these battles. Like said above the hard part is just getting to them :| Not exactly a straightforward strat vs an opponent that throws off your timing with counterspell. I get that most people on this forum are experienced, but howl bp...

Re: What's the best way to use Murkalot, Graves and MPD?

Basically you are setting up a Righteous Inspiration to allow Graves a turn to do massive AoE damage with a buffed Grave Destruction. That is the gist of the strategy. All you really need to look out for is a team that runs a blind or a stun/prism. If you cast Righteous Inspiration on turn one and t...

Re: Mechanics thread

Thanks for all the clarifications. Here's another one: interaction between traps and battlefield clearing spells. When you cast a spell that removes all objects from the battlefield--Magma Wave, etc.--onto a trap (Lil' Rag and Curious Wolvar Pup), what happens? I seem to always get stunned from a pr...

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!

The other counter is better, but i don't have access to it. S/S nightshade using lash, heal, blinding poison. the problem is that graves has both large hp and is undead. Combine that with 2 aoes and u have a real metagame issue. I love that S/S Nightshade Sproutling...I always use him with Call Dar...

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!

Someone else, I forget who, mentioned the Slithershock Elver as a pretty effective pet as well, and it's aquatic to boot which is always welcome in this undead heavy metagame. Open with Clobber and you will nail the RI'd pet - the beauty of this is that if they call your bluff and don't use RI, the...

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!

On a side note i have a funny counter to inspiration/aoe combo, Lovebird Hatchling, Stun on the switch then pheromones or switch to counter. Stun in general is a good way to stop the bonus damage, however it still leaves you with a bunch of guys to kill. Interesting. Yea stuns have some upside in t...

Re: Mechanics thread

3.Do you remember what kind of attacks are landing on them? There is actually some consistency in this area, where for example a pet that is in a lifted off state can be hit by the lift-off attack from another pet (because they're both flying or something). Similarly, you can hit a burrowed pet wit...

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!

the issue is the way AOEs get better as you kill pets. A lot of these abilities get stronger as u defeat their pets. I think they need to be treated more like bonestorm. there are pet counters but the problem is your backline pets have taken like 700 damage before they even get to play in the game....

Re: Mechanics thread

I've had a few questions eating at me. 1. How do Darkness + Nocturnal Strike interact with blindness. For instance, if I blind a Bone Serpent with a Death Adder Hatchling while darkness is the weather, should his nocturnal strike be able to hit given the general game mechanics? In practice, I learne...

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!

30 games is a paltry sum unfortunately to really claim you have a counter. Unfortunately while you can have a counter to 1 pet on a team -- that's the simple and easy part -- countering an *entire* team is the tricky bit. Roll out with MPD, Graves and Foss Hatch and good luck with your Ghostpup. Be...

Pet Battle Bots in PvP?

Over the past few days I've been running into a team made up of two Fragments of Anger and a Lil' Ragnaros named Fnale. I have a counter to this team so any time I encounter this player, I concede and queue up my counter hoping to catch the player on the requeue. I run a fox that almost solos the tw...

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!

The Elemental passive--unaffected by weather--often doesn't reap the rewards that other passives do, like the extra undead turn. To be fair, people play elementals quite regularly (and the Teroclaw is a top tier pet that spends part of its time/experience as elemental). Molten Corgi's appear regular...

Re: [2 Pet Guide] 14 grand masters, 1 hour, easy to get pets

Yea, the P/S Whelping in the second slot has been more consistent for me. As far as the minefield, you can crit for 1500 against that last pup. It one-shots him. I have never used it more than once in the battle. I had this happen on consecutive days, not allowing me to kill of my Iron Starlette. h...

Re: What are your top 5 moths and their ability?

I would generally prefer Counter Spell over Cocoon Strike. Counter Spell gives more control than Cocoon Strike does. You can check for cool downs, and stall that important heal (for example). I really like Kick and Interrupting Gaze. There sadly is anti-synergy between Counter Spell and Moth Dust. ...

Re: What are your top 5 moths and their ability?

I'm just starting to experiment with moths in PvP. I'm wondering about Counterspell. I have been annoyed to no end when a moth user opens counterspell, moth dust, counterspell. I'm assuming, based on the above list, that you generally value cocoon strike more than counterspell? Anyone use counterspe...

Re: Graves observations

Lol at the guy who just slow rolled me on the last turn with his Graves/Murk/Frag of Anger team. I have been auto-conceding against this comp and just decided to give it a try. I should be slow rolling him in celebration of almost winning. I have to agree with those arguing that the model for acquir...

Re: [2 Pet Guide] 14 grand masters, 1 hour, easy to get pets

Thanks for this. I never bothered to tighten up my 2-pet Draenor strats like this so yours has been helpful. I'm assuming you have run into the problem with Taralune's second Moth sleeping your 2nd Nexus Whelping? Afaik, this is an auto loss if you carry pet can't step in and take up the slack. I al...
