This or the Sprite Darter Hatchling can solo a team of all flying pets and, played smartly, absolutely wreck most of them.

Do the enthusiasts, by any chance, interact when they encounter each other? And does getting one via the prestige system automatically award the other?

Where do you see the interactions? I'm not seeing anything in Wowhead. (And I'm really hoping the squires mock-battle, or the prestige demons do.)

Adult owlcats desperately need to be beasts tamable by hunters.

It's disappointing that the bunny isn't a magical creature, but otherwise, this is the kind of thing I loved about the WotLK Dalaran.

It'd be nice if there was a way to have favorite pets per character, not account. I'd love for my mage's garrison to be nothing but animated books, brooms and the like roaming around, but my favorites are set for my dwarf engineer's garrison instead.

And very happy about the model upgrades -- guess I need to knuckle down and get myself a vorpal bunny ASAP.

Those manafiend pets may be among the least inspiring in a while. If there was a critter type that could use a visual update, arcane elementals like those have got to be high on the list.

The Blizzcon and Legion CE pets are amazing, though.

Yeah, that's the Blizzcon 2014 pet.

Re: Murky

I believe the woman who did the original voice of Murky sued Blizzard, trying to get a piece of WoW's profits. That would certainly explain the voice change. (I kind of like the new voice, so no harm, no foul, as far as I'm concerned.)

Update: Although his name could not initially be changed, as of Sept. 25, the name change took.

As cool as this pet is, I REALLY want this skin to be hunter-tamable. Barring that, I'd certainly take this pet ... if I played in Korea.

Another "flying" pet that won't fly to follow a mounted character, ugh.

There are no apparent interactions with either Grunty or the zergling, unfortunately.

This is a great compromise: People who weren't playing during Winter Veil 2007 still can have the fun of the clockwork rocket bot, but the people who did play back then get their rare pet.

Although they've moved away from achievement pets for every 25 pets learned, it's nice to see Blizzard using pets as a carrot for things they want players to do. This pup is much better than Mr. Chilly (sorry, Chilly), who's pretty boring. This guy is as interesting as any pet in the game, and a definitely five-star one.

I'm not a BM hunter, but anyone with a core hound pet needs to have this one out full time.

There was a Feat of Strength for an Onyx Tiger put in at the same time as this one. No idea when or where we'll see it, though, alas. I had hoped this model would be a tamable (non-spirit beast) hunter pet one day, so this is as close as I'm likely to get.

They really need to make Onyxia's actual whelplings look like this! And making this fly along with mounts should be a top priority!

I love this pet, but I hope that only the tabard remains the same for each Olympics, and we get a new, location-appropriate, pet each time. A moose or beaver for Canada? (We already have a polar bear, obviously.) Maybe a Canadian goose?
