This is the perfect pet to use against Eleanor, in your garrison dailies. Toss up your shield in round 1 (blocks the big attack), then stampede & flurry. Two level 23 rats easily took out this undead goat. Simple!

@Azure30:

not a bug. The Valk received some nerfs in 6.0 because it was too powerful. There is a lengthy forums discussion about the changes to Haunt and how it affects Valk playstyle, if you are interested in learning more.

The feline familiar has been a staple on my power leveling team for quite some time now. It brings great damage output, self heals, and damage mitigation (Stoneskin shuts down most every poision or damage over time abilities you'll encounter in wild battles). It is my go to pet whenever any flyer shows up as a secondary, but is effective against almost anything. I also love that it mounts up on a broom to follow you when flying around! Overall, I consider this a "must-have" pet, love this kitty!

Looks to me like either the P/P breed or S/S will be the best breeds. P/P if you want to use a Tail Sweep/Arcane Storm setup, or S/S if you want to use the Arcane Slash/Lift-Off combo. Overall, S/S looks more interesting to me, because there are other Dragonkin that have stronger Tail Sweeps (P/P Spawn of Onyxia, for example). With the avoidance and stun, this dragon really makes the most of that 325 speed!

These frequently appear as secondary pets to the Venomspitter Hatchlings, which are numerous and respawn quickly. I highly recommend farming these (and the spiders in the area) rather than hunting down the elusive primary spawns.

Average PvE pet battler, nothing to write home about if trying to use against trainers or wild pets. However, fantastic PvP pet battler! Provides for some really interesting uses, with stuns, free swaps, etc. It will really keep your opponent on their toes! As other have said, get the H/S breed and play around with it. I really enjoying using this one!

This is actually a pretty decent backline pet. It's not going to do a ton of damage, and on it's on is pretty weak. However, it is a great "team player", providing reduced damage AND heal over time for your other pets. Combine it with some of your typical "glass cannons" to give them more durability, and suddenly Harmonius Porcupette has some interesting potential.

These are found only in Winterspring, at the frozen lake and the gorge (ignore the out of date comments below). Pain in the buns to farm for a rare. Their spawns appear to be tied to the other nearby critters, so if you don't find any, go massacre the bunnies and squirrels. I was able to spawn 1-3 at a time using this method. Have been farming for a few hours with no luck, hopefully your hunt is easier =/

With Supercharge, Wind-Up, and Demolish, this pet has some huge damage output potential! The P/P breed sounds like the winner in terms of Demolish, but the H/P version will give a little more surviability, and provides a stronger Explode option. With the ability to boost it's own speed, breed such as P/S are less interesting to me.

This pet is the definition of "glass cannon". The P/P especially so, with 341 power but under 1300 hp. However, this little guy can chew some serious face. At level 16, mine was easily taking down 2+ level 25 critters. A well timed devour can heal for about 50% health, which does make up for the low health to some degree. This is great for wild pet battles, but much much harder to pull off in pvp. Extremely great pet for powerleveling your low levels against critters.

I would suggest the P/B breed for this guy. Speed doesn't really make a difference for DoT's, since your main damage ticks at the end of each turn anyway. The extra power will make those DoT's hit a little harder, and your heal will be bigger. The S/B breed, at 289 speed, will work better if you plan to use Ooze Touch, but will still not be fast enough to take advantage of being strong vs flyers. The 80 or so extra health in the H/B does not contribute all that much to survival.

@Aur - Great tip for farming them in the un-instanced ZG. I was having a hard time finding them in the wild. They seemed to spawn fairly regularly here; I found them far more frequently. Had a rare within 30 minutes even!

Showed up sometime between 9-9:30pm server time. They respawn very quickly, so go nuts. Little green paws were popping up almost as quickly as I could kill them!

Not many spawn, and they are scattered all around. After two days of hunting, I finally found one as a secondary pet to a Dusk Spiderling, of which there are many. They show up when battling most other pets in the zone (Mice, spiderlings, roaches, etc.), so just engage everything you see.

As others have said, difficult to find as a rare spawn. Kill all the other pets around to try and force some moths to show up, but you'll likely have better luck finding one as a secondary pet.

@Kenrio is right. This cat is a MONSTER at powerleveling in wild pet battles. The damage reduction from Stone Skin is substantial and negates almost all DoT effects (posions, stampedes, etc.). Combined with the self-healing of Devour, I consistently take of groups of 3 wild pets and end every fight at full health. WOW. Either Pounce or Onxy Bite is a viable option. Personally I choose Onxy Bite, since Pounce is weak against flyers (which are common in the wild...mechanicals not so much).

Re: Rat

A single level 25 rat can also be found on the Timeless Isle, at the northern end of the Celestial Court. It contains secondary pets from the Jade Forest zone.

This is unique because it is the only primary rat at this level. The respawn timer is very quick, about 2 minutes after you defeat/kill it.
