This pet is chosen among three vanity pets as a reward after completing a chain of Children's Week quests. These quests may be accessed by characters level 10+. See the Guide to Children's Week for a detailed walkthrough of this chain. Other rewards for the final quest include Whiskers the Rat and Mr. Wiggles. Collecting all three pets on the same character is possible (over the course of three years) since the quests are repeatable each year.

This pet is also available as a FigurePets collectible (series 1).

Both Speedy and the snowshoe rabbit were adopted by a tauren friend of mine. One time she had them race. The snowshoe got off to a great start, but Speedy soon unleashed his secret weapon — a pair of Goblin Rocket Boots. Of course, goblin technology isn’t always reliable. So to make a long story short, the rabbit celebrated his victory with a bowl of mixed greens while my tauren friend enjoyed some Soothing Turtle Bisque.

Once you make it to Dalaran, it is essential to take Speedy down to the Circle of Wills in the Underbelly, where a large rat is holding court with four turtle friends. In fact, every time my character is down there, my young son insists I get out Speedy "so he can have circle time!"

Ever since I was little and I read the book 'Elsio Trot' I've been an avid Turtle lover, to the point of owning my very own real life turtle! So when I first saw Speedy following around another player I knew I had to get him!

There's a YouTube video (sorry bad at linking) that shows a news reporter asking a little boy what he thinks of some newsworthy situation. The child just stares blankly at her & replies "I like turtles." This has become my guilds silly battlecry & Speedy is always present somewhere in our raids.

I think allot of people who don't already have Speedy are gonna get him this year. I know I am! He'll be perfect to have out when I'm riding my Sea Turtle! Lik a moma and son.
