Note that half of the proceeds of every Pandaren Monk purchased through December 31, 2009 will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. I'm very happy to see Blizzard doing something worthwhile with the money earned from these new store-bought pets.

What better pet is there for a dwarf than one we can sit and have a drink with?
Not to mention his animation is amazing. To me, this puts him a step up from previous pets and I think Blizzard will have to compete with themselves to beat this.
And if you're curious.. he shares the same running animation as the Tuskarr and moves at quite a steady speed compared to a lot of other pets.

The Pandaren Monk is amazingly cute and has incredible animations: two fighting sequences, plus bows and stretches. If you /drink with him, he sits down to drink from his hip bottle. He'll remain sitting until you move quite a large distance away, at which point he runs to catch up. If you /bow to him he will bow back to you!

Using Papa Hummel Pet Biscuit on him makes him into a life-sized Pandaren! He has cute eyes if you look under his hat (takes some camera maneuvering). You can /bow to other people's Pandarens as well as your own.

I agree with FishMan123. I think these new pets are really neat, but I really hope Blizzard only releases a couple per year. If they start to flood us with new $10 pets every couple of months it will be very tiresome.

Out of both of the new pets, this is the one I think will be my traveling companion, especially when questing and leveling when Cata comes out. He just looks like he's ready for a long journey and whatever WoW can throw at me!

Blizzard has personally granted a few make-a-wish wishes, so it's nice to see them working with this charity again to raise funds for those who are in need.

Not to mention many of us have been waiting to get SOME form of the Pandaren in the game for quite sometime - and at last it's shown up in a vanity (charity giving) pet form.

I too hope that this doesn't become too much of a trend, but I'll be willing to pony up ten bucks every now and then if the pets are always as high quality as this one. And donating to a good cause always helps!

Just don't expect us to pay up for yet another raptor hatchling or something, Blizz ;)

The Pandaren is from the original Warcraft games, and was meant to be a April Fools joke. And with this new pet, maybe Pandaren will be included in Catacylsm!

Take the pandaren monk swimming. She has a wonderful, rhythmic stroke.

Whatever you do, don't accidentally key voice chat while making Kung Fu noises along with your Pandaren. Not that I would know this from experience...

This pet is by far one of the most detailed and interactive pet to date, I really don't know how they are going to top this little guy! I am hoping that they make it so my gnome can get the same type of hat and we can be twins!

I am a wish kid. I was raised with a terminal illness and had my wish granted at the age of eight by the Make A Wish Foundation. I was lucky enough to survive to adulthood, let alone teenagedom. The Make A Wish Foundation helped me, they enriched my life and gave me hope. I am a WoW player!

Click for photo of me on my wish ^^ Met President Clinton. ^^.

And Thanks to ANYONE who've bought this pet during the promotional period!

Nick.

I LOVE this guy! He is so entertaining while I'm grinding for Cenarian Expedition and Skyguard rep! This pet, IMO, is one of the best by far!

I decided to pick this up because of the charity thing. If both Pet Store pets had gone to charity, I would have considered them both but I am glad to limit my spending to good causes and monthly fees! Hopefully if more pets come out in the future, there will be a charity component.

I bought him like 2 days ago! I love him!! He is so kute!! I go up to people and ask them to bow to him, and they are always so surprised to see him bow back! He is amazing! I thought it was from Kung Fu Panda when I first saw him!! Amazing! I bought him and Lil K.T. too!! Love them both!!

I love this little guy. He helps a very worthwile cause, and he's just mega entertaining. Every time he makes those noises, I take a nostalgia trip to Tekken world and think of Law. Or move world and think of Bruce Lee. And judging from the other comments, glad I'm not the only one to make noises with him! Although I sadly found out that Boomkin lack a bow animation T_T

This guy does not interact with things from Breanni like the fetch ball or happy pet snack. You can throw that ball all you want, but he'll just watch it roll past.

Oddly enough, his animations don't display the same to all watchers. I had mine out and my friend couldn't see him moving when I could, and I couldn't see him moving when my friend could. The /bow and /drink are the only ones that worked constantly for both of us.

A very cool pet regardless of how you look at it and even more so considering it is the only representation in-game of the much loved Pandaren race.
A top 10 competitor for sure but maybe not top 5.
