Pet Bombling

While adorable, you may want to think twice about summoning this little guy during raids, especially where you'll be using voicechat - the constant tick-ticking as it walks can get annoying to other players pretty quick.

It's awsome because you can yell " I HAVE A BOMB " when you summon it, and people do /point and /scared at it. Now you can get it in Gnomer, but before you had to pay tons on gold to recive it via mail. Yea, you had to pay to recive bombs in your mailbox.

You can still summon this guy and lil'smokey if you drop engineering later on, I figure its worthwhile advise for pet collectors who are afraid to find out for themselves. I now have JC and Tailoring and can still summon both. Classic summoning emote "Explosions! I need more explosions!"

This pet doesn't require high engineering so it's easy to drop gathering profession to level up engineering, go get the schematic, make pet, drop engineering and level gathering profession back up again. More tricky though if you only have crafting professions and you would loose all your recipes/plans etc.

I dropped herbalism which was easy to level back up and as a reward for a few hours work I now have Pet Bombling and Lil'Smoky :)

it will only drop if there is an engineer in the party, and oly the engineer can roll on it

it is not yet confirmed if the engineer must be a high enough level to make it for it to drop.

He clanks up a storm as he walks! Blizz should mute his footsteps, and maybe make him kamikaze himself on critters? The Genocide of the Scorchling, combined with the suicide of the Rocket Chicken!

just ran for this schematic two days ago, both the bombling and lil smokey dropped, I was only lvl four in engineering at the time.
now for the rough and expensive grind to get to make them:)

Have you ever made a decision that you later regretted? That's how I feel when I think about the Bombling, which is restricted to the engineering profession. Regrettably, I am a blacksmith, and a maxed out one to boot. As much as I love the little Bomb-omb knock-off, I can't bring myself to ditch one perfected profession for another.

Not yet, anyway. I could be convinced if properly motivated. Maybe if the Rocket Chicken became a crafted pet. Eh, Blizzard? Eh? EH?

When i found out about this pet i was being blown out of this world with excitement, i fiddled and twisted various nuts and bolts. eventually i had the skill to craft this little terror. to this day me and him are having a blast!

As soon as I saw this lil' guy hopping at me in thermapluggs room, I've been in love! He should fight lil' smokey when he sees him. Gnomish vs Goblin engineering! :)


I'm still at about 165 engineering but I have the schematic in my bank and I can't wait till I can make it!!

LOVE THIS PET now if only he world randomly blow up. That would be amusing.

Back in my day, this little guy was a tough one to get. First you had to pick goblin engineering. This would mean that you could never obtain Lil' Smoky. After wards, you had to destroy your goblin membership card and pay 2g to renew it. You would be sent a letter in the mail 24 hours later, confirming your membership and a box. Inside the box would be some cool stuff, including the schematic for this guy, though it was VERY low. I was lucky to get it on my first renewal. =)

According to the newest PTR patch notes, this guy will no longer be Binds on Pickup.

In the Official 3.3.3 patchnotes :
# Engineering
The Pet Bombling and Lil' Smoky non-combat pets are no longer Bind-on-Pickup.

This pet will be made Bind on Use soon, and won't be limited to engineers only. Assuming the materials won't change here is what you will need to have an engineer make one for you:

6 Copper Bars

Bring them to a jewelcrafter and have them make you
3 Delicate Copper Wires. Bring the wires to an engineer along with

2 Essences of Fire
6 Mithril Bars
3 Iron Bars
1 Silver Bar
3 Heavy Stones
1 Heart of Fire

You can use Fused Wirings left over to make Lil' Smoky.

patch 3.3.3 will make this BOE .. so then everyone can get one :P

Anybody knows if with Cataclysm this pet will be gone or changed to bind when used and without engineering requirement?

As of patch 3.3 anyone is lucky enough to have this little pet. Just find a friendly engineer or check your local AH :)

Im always walking around with this pet and my red core hound. Combine his clacking feet and my hound's earth-shaking paws and you get the loudest hunter ever!
