hi, all got the parrot sunday after grinding firefly and raptors .got bored with those and went to booty to kill sailors got the parrot to drop on maybe my 15th kill 2nd boat all the way to the end of 2nd floor last mob.your right great feeling great looking bird,collecting has given me a refresh on the game.

if you are farming for this pet it will realy decrease your chances of geting the admirals hat

This pet will make it harder to get the bloodsail admiral title, but i'd rather have the rarest pet in the game than a title and a new hat.

i have been farming this pet on and off since i was lvl38ish. keep in mind, i have been playing since three months after release. i am starting to wonder if it rly exists!

7,000 Gold and I still don't regret buying it....virtual gold to keep my real-life sanity? totally worth it!

A friend of mine wanted to give me this pet, unaware of its true value, but silly as I am, I TOLD HIM. I still beat myself up about that, because he sold it on the AH. Oh, well. I can always fit in a little pirate genocide once and a while. One day, she will be mine. I know it.

finally got my hands on one last night, i stole it too!! buyout was set at 15,000g, with opening bid of 2000g. i bid of course, after several outbids later, the pet belongs to me for a cheap sum of 3200g!!! i am so excited!! since this is the ONLY epic pet and by far the most rare of them all, i dont think i will ever show any of my other pets! this is the only one i need to ever have on display now, show how leet i am!

I'm so happy. I farmed this pet for about four days and I got it tonight!!! My suggestion for farming this pet is listen to alot of music, chat with friends and try not to get burnt out. I know I got lucky, but believe me this pet is worth the grind. So beautiful!

One just popped up on Thunderhorn-US Alliance side for 300,000 gold.

I always hated farming for pets for weeks on end and reading posts from people that got it in an hour or so. Well....now I'm that guy! I got this beauty after about 40 minutes of farming! 10 of those minutes were spent fighting a level 80 mage (I'm on a PvP server). Happy Hunting!

Starting to think I may be better off farming the gold for this and buying it rather then trying to farm the pirates.

This pet is NOT the only Epic pet. It is the only Epic pet to drop in-game however.

Thunderhead Hippogryph, Dragon Kite and Tuskarr Kite are also 3 other epic pets. However they're from the TCG so you have to get a real life drop (heh) or pay real life money on ebay for them.

I now officially hate this pet - I am less than 1000k rep from Exalted with Everlook, and still no stinking bird! I know that the drop rate is extremely low, but this is beyond low! Argh! And all the level 40's hate me. Anyone have any hints?

Wow. What a nice feeling when this pet drops. I tried for several hours over several days and finally got it tonight. Was from a pirate on land. Stunning pet and don't think I'm ever going to put it away.

Miraculously got this after two kills! Figure I was owed something after having no luck grinding for a Deviate Hatchling for 3 days.

So, I'm currently lvl76 with my pally, he's my main and I've been playing off and on since before BC. I actually got this pet while doing the pirate quests, I tried selling it for 1000g and no one would buy it because of all the idiots spamming trade saying you can buy it in booty bay... uggg. I eventually gave up and learned it, and I still have people asking me where I got it, it only leaves my side when I summon my nether ray fry, who I am currently in love with :D

Finally got my Hyacinth Macaw today. Got exalted with ratchet/everlook virtually all by farming for this pet.
Got it on one of the ships.
Gundrak Hatchling only left of dropped pets for me to get.

I want to say if you really want this be prepared to spend an really long time or buy it. Don't let those people who posted they got it in under 30 min sway you to the difficulty this pet actually is to farm. I spent almost 18 hours through a weekend, with over 3k kills, 1 first mate's hat, lots of greens and no bird. If I wanted to hit the 10,000 mark that is just more time then I think I would want to spend. I seriously believe most are better off saving money and buying it.

I am on Feathermoon, and since this little beauty has turned Epic status, prices are now in the 25000 Gold range....no Im not kidding. As a vetran player of feathermoon, I must say it is the most expensive server around. My way of getting around this price. Created a char on a new server, watched the AH, bought for 3 for 2 to 130 G, and moved char to feathermoon.
And no I dont plan on selling any of the 3. THEIR MINE. Hehe

On Silvermoon. one on the AH for 75k.

Mosphet, how would you have that much gold on a "new server with a new character"?

I just got the Hyacinth tonight. Took me about ~6500 kills to get. I've been pretty lucky with getting other pets, so I can't complain too much.

This goes for about 25k-30k on Drak'Tharon. That being said some guy had it up for 14k, with a bid of 7k. I sent him a mail saying if he was willing to sell it for 5k i would buy it. Today i checked my mailbox and he did indeed C.O.D it to me for 5k. WOOT!!!

Thanks to it switching to epic rarity I have seen this on my AH twice and both times it was going for over 16,ooo gold. Oh well, I will just take the time to farm it. I know I'm a hardcore collector already tho because I spent over 30 hours trying to farm the crimson whelping before it finally dropped for me. Most of those farming sessions were in the 4-6 hour range.
