Supposedly, phoenixes will turn into a pile of ashes upon death. Then a new phoenix will rise up from the ashes, reborn and rejuvenated. So my question is this: which of you unruly phoenix owners was so careless as to allow your precious phoenix flying mount to die? Huh?! Because if I manage to get this adorable baby bird, all I can say is "Finders Keepers!"

If you're farming this guy, it might be worth doing one of your runs each day on heroic for a shot at the mount.

It looks like Tempest Keep was merely a set back for this little guy too..

Since the patch 3.2.2, this is one of the pets that has learned how to fly fast enough and high enough to keep up with epic flying mounts.

Farming for this little guy can be pretty profitable with all the Netherweave cloth that drops. If one of your friends is a tailor, have them transform your cloth into Netherweave bags.

I love having him beside me specially when I'm on my Shadow form...together we are the light and the darkness >_<
Definitely one of the best pets ever.

I have an idea for great idle animation. It definitely SHOULD burn to the ashes and then recreate from those ashes. That would probably be the best mini-pet animation ever!

I farmed this pet with another druid so we were able to skip a lot of the trash. Best to do on normal mode so it's fast and easy :) Still pretty boring so do a few runs at once and have a break before going again!

I'm pretty sure any 2 classes at level 80 could manage this so long as you know what you're doing and how to avoid Kael damage which can still be pretty nasty if you stay in wrong spot.

Next time you have your little guy out, be sure to turn down your particle density and zoom in on his back- he's wearing a miniature fiery version of the armor seen on a druid's swift flight form!

Depending on your class it may be a good idea to solo Heroic Magister's Terrace for a chance at the pet and mount as a Demo Lock i did it quite a few times with a healer but kept losing it to them when it droped so i started soloing it and managed to get both the pet and mount.

This pet deserves his position as #1, just like his mount counterpart he's nearly flawless apart from the lack of an idle animation. Might I suggest a death and rebirth like the Phoenix unit in WIII Frozen Throne.

It took my husband and I (him being a ret/prot pally, me a frost/fire mage) two or three months of daily farming both on heroic and normal for me to finally get this pet.

After I got it we stopped running the instance cause of boredom, but after taking a three month break we started farming HMgT for the mount a few weeks ago and now this pet drops nearly every time, which is great cause now just about all of our friends has this little guy as well!

My husband and I ran thru this together maybe 4 times. We took a break from it for a couple of weeks then tried again and our first attempt we got it :D I was so happy I kept squealing :P This bird is so cute!

Thottbott indicates there to only be 2.7% difference in the drop rate b/t heroic and reg at this time, so I think I will farm reg when I decide to go after this guy.

Finally got one to drop after 31 runs. Not soloable as an 80 warrior, but if you bring along a friend who can heal, you'll fly right through. If you're careful, you can skip most of the trash mobs and just hit bosses as you run to the end. 15 minutes from start to finish if nobody dies or gets reckless.

Not bad at all for a pet this awesome (it keeps burning even underwater!)

it took me two and a half years, and over 400 MGT runs but this little guy finally dropped for me the other night when i was helping my friend farm mongoose mats, i will admit i cried tears of joy. He hasnt left my side since.

Lol soloed this on my hunter and it dropped first time! lol than i rounded up a pally to do it on heroic for mount and geuss wat? The mount dropped first time! but i didnt win it ;( /cry

VERY CUTE gorgeous companion pet!!!
Although kael thalas is hard it can come in very handy while im farming ashes of alar too!

And who knows? maybe ill get both at once!!!!!!!!

i got this on my lvl 70 priest last week, on the 2nd time i completed this dungeon, we all rolled need on it and i won it, someone in my party offered me 50 gold for it, i dont think so, i kept it- its a pretty cool pet, all glowy and stuff

I got this on my first run luckily.
To solo as an 80 rogue with t9 and above it still wasnt easy and I wiped quite a few times, glad i got it on my first run otherwise I probably wouldnt have attempted it again for a while

Got it in six runs (four normal, two heroic). Actually ended up getting the mount as well on my first heroic attempt, but I'm much happier about the phoenix! He's a very cute little pet, and very flashy as well. Easily my favorite flier, I think I'll be having him out quite often.

Im a hunter, and I found soloing MT to be pretty simple. Even easier if you dismiss your pet and run through trash then Feign Death.
Dropped for me around my 5th run. Definately worth it.

I just got this about 5 mins ago!! My fiancee was running me through (this was our first attempt!) and it dropped!!! It is beautiful!!and looks especially beautiful with my shadow priest xD!!! *excited*
