This pet may be purchased for roughly 10 gold (factoring in the reputation discount) upon achieving exalted with the Kalu'ak faction. Sairuk is found in Moa'ki Harbor, Dragonblight. Tanaika is located in Kamagua, Howling Fjord. A variety of Kalu'ak quests are available to earn reputation, including a few repeatable daily quests.

Pengu walks on land and swims on his belly in water. He responds to the /sexy emote by sometimes doing a penguin slide. There are different animations for the slide on land and in water.

The dailies are very simple, i was exalted with the kalu'ak before i even got to lv 78, i simply did all the quests they had to offer and did the dailies for a couple of weeks.

Helping some friends through Blood Furnace and showing the place to Pengu, Magtheridon cried out: "The master has come."
Briefly i saw Pengu's eyes sparkle.

Pengu has been proven, by Dalaran researchers who wished to be left anonymous, to actually be Chilly's evil twin. Born of the same egg, Pengu pushed Chilly out of the safety of the nest, never to be seen again. Many question the validity of these findings, but there is one tell-tale sign that proves it, beyond a shadow of a doubt. The eyes. The blood red eyes. Apparently, according to the rumours from PTR 3.3. Pengu has successfully undergone an exorcism. Either that, or he got some eye drops. Apparently his eyes are no longer red. So make sure you take all the demonic penguin screenshots now, before the patch goes live.

Unfortunately (IMO), Pengu's eyes will be changed in patch 3.3 so they're not the "Where's your god now?!?" red orbs of doom, and instead have the same basic eyes that Chilly/Oswald has.

I actually like Pengu's red eyes and I'm kind of upset they are being changed. On MMO where they show the comparison pics they just look way too similar.

I agree with Nanalady, I like pengu's current eyes. I don;t understand why they need to change them, since we are gonna get cute non-demonic penguin soon, but such is life I guess.

As a renegade mage-gineer, I'm sad to see Pengu's eyes turning blue. I love my creepy little guy the way he is- after all the hard work (only 1500 exp a day!?) I would like to keep my evil little bird!

So they changed him...which makes no sense since, as I found out, Violca's comment below has a PERFECT point: rockhopper penguins have orange/red eyes! Now he is no longer anatomically correct in addition to looking identical to Mr. Chilly. They should have simply made a black pupil with an orange iris, so that he had a less "glazed over", "demonic" look but still retained his uniqueness (as well as remaining a proper rockhopper). I'm in agreement to PLEASE KEEP PENGU UNCHANGED! I have been working to get him for a while now and think he looks great with his red eyes. I was shocked to hear rumour that he will change to look almost identical to Mr Chilly. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

If we're getting Mr. Chilly with his baby blue eyes, do we really need to change my oh-so-loved Pengu? Sure he's a little demonic, but so is every Warlock in the game. Does that mean we need to change them to make them fit in? No. Shame on Blizzard for saying that possessed penguins can't be loved.

I agree -- Pengu's eyes should remain red so that he continues to be unique (and evil). Instead of posting your distaste for this change here, I urge you to add your support to the suggestion thread on the official WoW forums. If enough people post, they may yet change our beloved little Pengu back to his demonic self.

UPDATE: Kinda sad to see a blue-eyed Pengu after the launch of 3.3. :-(

Well it doesn't make sense to change his eye color, as having red eyes made perfect sense- Pengu is very obviously a rockhopper penguin. Real rockhopper penguins have red/orange eyes.

Another questionable top 10, I get Penguins, Baby Bears and Skunks are all the rage for little girls and rank very high in the cute'o meter but again I don't get why a common critter makes the top 10.
Also his red eyes were the only part that made him intresting for a penguin and they're being changed to match Mr Chilly... too bad.

I am MOST annoyed that they are reportedly taking away Pengu in the 3.3 patch.

I rescued countless Kaluak pups, just so I could get this pet.

Now, if Pengu gets removed, I would like to declare war on the Kaluak, and go on a pet-divested killing spree.

I am, after all, a Mage, and mass AOE killing sprees are one of those things mages are good at (other than dying).

Pengu just looks WRONG now... all wrong... he doesn't even want to come out to play any more... you can see it in his EYES. It's like he's been taken over by some blue-eyed demon :'(

Did Blizz ever even give a reason for the change?

(added Jan 5, 2010) Please put the old pic of Pengu back in Breanni... give him his red-eyed justice in at least one place in this tired old world of pc boringness (is there still no reason from Blizz for this travesty?). Revive the Pengu Revolution!

Just want to lend my support that I really LIKE the red-eyed Pengu. I would much rather they keep his wicked eyes. Having an angelic penguin and a demonic penguin makes a nice duo! A difference in eyes also better distinguishes the two, as at a glance now I pretty much see them as being the same penguin.

I am so disappointed with Pengu's new look. Why would they change him? Now he looks too much like Mr. Chilly. I enjoyed the fact that they were different, and I'm also annoyed that he no longer properly resembles a rockhopper penguin. What the heck, Blizz?
