Notes:
This pet is mailed to characters who've completed the Pilgrim meta achievement. Completing this achievement requires completing several other Pilgrim's Bounty achievements, some of which involve high level instances and PvP, during a very short span of time. For more information, take a look at Wowhead's Pilgrim's Bounty Guide.

The Plump Turkey's special animation is to jump into any nearby cooking fires to cook himself, as he "senses his destiny."

Breanni Says:

Pilgrim's Bounty is here and I still don't have a turkey for the big feast. Well, I do have Plumpers here... my plump turkey pet. *licks lips* Wait! What am I thinking?! I couldn't possibly cook such a colorful and magnificant creature! Guess it'll have to be ham this year. *looks around* Here, Mr. Wiggles! Here, piggy-piggy!
Breanni

If you have this pet out and there is a campfire out, an emote will say "Plump Turkey senses his destiny!" and the turkey will jump on the campfire and roast in just 1 second! Talk about convenience...

Killing 40 Turkeys within the time limit:
Tracker Snacks help alot w/ this. Eat one, get the buff, and start killing! Unless there is a turkey within your eyesight, mount up after killing each turkey to make it go faster, and check your map for locations.

It is possible to get this pet (and achievement) within two days. Choose one hat, one robe, and EIGHT turkey guns from the daily rewards. That's all you need for the achievements. The rest involves running around and killing things. Good luck!

If you're a Hunter, you can track Wild Turkeys via Beast Tracking (for the Turkinator achievement), which makes it a lot easier. I helped my friends on this by hunting for the turkeys (but not attacking them) so they could find the next closest one. Also, you need to kill the turkeys withing a few seconds of each other, hence the difficulty.

Do not bring Plump Turkey to your raids, he likes to jump in the fire.

Let me tell you about Plump Turkey. This pet has a death wish! No matter how much you try to convince it that life is worth living, his one goal is to hurl his pathetic feathered body atop a flaming campfire. He believes that it is his duty, nay, his destiny, to become your next dinner! Pleading, attempting to convince him of his own free will does nothing. Like the Elwynn Lamb, this pet will only abandon you and make you confront your own mortality.

don't know if this is a bug but

if u're near a spring rabbit - the 2 of them will fall in love

like spring rabbit with spring rabbit ... however - the love doesn't break of till the turkey will find his destiny :P

the heart breaks then by both of the pets (rabbit and turkey)

edit:
i have to correct my post
the love breaks off random ~ too

For the turkey shooter, do not shoot anyone already transformed, you'll waste a shot.

SUGGESTION FOR THE TURKINATOR FOR HORDE:
- Go to the field just under SM
- Bring Tracker Snacks (a must)
- Turn off herb/mine tracking if you have it
- Look for all yellow dots (the red dots are mobs, avoid them)
- HAVE FUN! :D

I got the achievement on my first try on my main, and 2nd try on my alt. Very easy to do with tracker snacks!

Another good way to grab the Turkinator achievement is to group with another individual and use a macro for it
/tar wild turkey
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 1)
When you click on the macro,it will target a turkey and place a raid icon on the turkey, which can be seen through tree's, buildings, etc. This gives you an easy way to find the next live turkey your after. My suggestion would be to kill a turkey, mount up and while you go through the animation click the macro

Some tips:
I cooked 40 of each food for 2 sets of 5 dailies.
the rewards i chose:
1st day:
4 Turkey shooters (got my alliance rogues with these)
1 of either robe, attire, or dress
2nd day:
1 pilgrim hat
4 turkey shooters (got the horde rogues with these)

When going through sethekk halls, it does not have to be heroic and I was able to solo on a 80 disc priest.

For Turkinator:
-tracking food was helpful
-alliance outnumbers horde on my server so I went to Tirisfal glades to kill them

How odd.... Spring Rabbit and Plump Turkey will fall in love and make baby rabbits. But poor lonely turkey. (from the turkey caller) gets no action.

"This makes this pet one of the most challenging event-specific pets to obtain."

This seriously needs some edit :o It's one of the easiest to have, it only takes 2 days to be able to get enough guns. Compared to, say, the sinister squashling or the scrochling wich are rare drops, it's pretty much given.

when I did my Turkinator achievement, I just used a macro: /tar wild
spam that till you target one, and usually u can see it when you scope around by camera angle. kill the turkey, mount up and start spamming again.
Good luck!

Getting mine tomorrow.

I used Travel Form for the Turkinator since I can still attack.
Had a guildie run me through Sethekk (I'm level 60 now).
Horde's been nice so far and deselecting the Turkey buff so I can shoot in Dalaran.

Fun achievement so far.

If you do this (The Turkinator) as a pair the other person can pick up your turkey loots for you or them and vise-versa to speed up the process. That's what my fiance and I did and it worked very well.

The turkey suicide has to be the greatest vanity pet action Blizzard has come up with. Wish they would have similar complex actions to other pets like having the whelps breathe fire on nearby pets similar to K.T.'s freezing. All we can hope is that this is a new trend!

When around a cooking fire this pet will "sence his destiny" and jump into the fire! he'll turn into a cooked turkey that no longer able to be targeted. He burn's with fire going up to about the size of a gnome 3 time's before quiting, about 3 seconds after that he will despawn for you to summon again :D
My guild found this funny, just it get's annoying during this holiday because of all the cooking fire's that are out.

The best advice I can give concerning the hardest part of obtaining this pet (Turkinator) that hasn't been already said - kill the turkeys slowly.

Waiting till your timer hit about 15 seconds and running to the next one..even with competition I never ran out of turkeys, happy hunting!

Finding a dwarf rogue to complete the meta achievement was fantastically frustrating, but ultimately worth it. New pets are always worth the hassle in the end, but this one goes the extra mile by having it mailed to you by the delightfully diminutive Breanni. One of only four such pets, I think?

Odd thing I noticed about this: there is no sound when you bring it out, not even the normal 'letting-out-of-box' sound. As far as I can tell the only other pets that don't have this sound are the ones that have their own special sound: Shimmering Wyrmling, Argent Squire (or green version :p ) and Pink Pachyderm.

I wonder if the turkey was meant to have a gobble sound that is currently bugged... hope so!

100 pets!!!!! I just got my plump turkey, my 100th pet, and the first thing I did was go to a fire. it's so funny to see it cook itself! I wish it made a gobble gobble sound when you click on it. Definitely a cute pet that shows Blizzard still has a sense of humor!

As an accomplished in-game Chef (all 169 recipes) this is now my favorite pet (tied only with the Dragon Kite). Start a fire alongside a Picnic Basket and a Gumbo Kettle, and start the feast :-)

it took forever to get turkinator for me. my main is a warrior and made a macro to target turkey then charge. this worked very well. if ur in Elwynn Forest, hunt the turkeys at hours most people wont be on. also start faraway from stormwind because everyone starts there. Good Luck :)
