Infested cubs still listen for the telltale buzzing of bees even though they can no longer taste honey.
I went to the general area around the Sludgeguard tower and the Azureload Mine and never ran out of bear cubs. I found a rarelvl 6 Bear Cub just outside the entrance to the Azurelode Mine and a rare lvl 6 Rabbit as a second to this same bear cub. Right nearby I found a rare lvl 6 Red-Tailed Chipmonk as a second to a common bear cub and a little closer to Sludgeguard Tower I found another rare lvl 6 Red-tailed Chipmonk. All in about 45 minutes.
This method worked perfectly! When i first arrived to the spot there wasnt a single momma bear around. I killed all the ones i could find and slowly started getting a few mommas marked with the raid targets. I had 5 moms with only 2 respawns on 3 different bears before I got my rare. Excellent advice! Have to add my experience with this...
I was farming for a rare Infested Bear Cub using the raid icon method, started with 2 mama bears and slowly kept adding more. I finally got to where I was marking one with skull (last icon in the list) because I had so many, but as I went to battle the cub, it turned out to be a rare! Luckily I had my Terrible Turnip ready to go.
Took advice so given here about the 'mamma bears and the raid icons'. Found 2 mamas w/ cubs, marked them then killed EVERYTHING ELSE. The spawn/respawn was rapid. More new mamas w/ cubs would spawn. Had total of six going, all marked, as I would kill off everything else. Things went great until an Undead Hordie came and slaughtered all my mamas for the fun of it then laughed. Got "RARE" on fourth cub Infested Bear Cub. Many other critter RARES in LU.
One of the many pets to add for a bear threesome with robo-bear and darkshore cub. Another favorite of mine is the Chrominius, core hound pup, stitched pup combo, and the fossil hatchling, cogblade, darting hatchling.
This is probably the only pet I've ever been asked to desummon because it creeped someone out.
Love these! First try found an uncommon with ugly mama bear. There were loads of spiders and while I kept looking I found one ! Found it around 2:20 PM game time.
I tried the theory posted below with killing the bears and then marking the "mama" bears that respawn nd it wirked like a charm!! thanks for the tip!
Just flew over the Azurelode Mine.. and spotted one.. it was an uncommon! I'll take it!
i just spent a few hours farming to get a rare. Not killing the mothers but killing all other bears does not seem to make a difference. It was not until i stopped killing all the bears, just marked the mothers for easy reference and flew around that i found 2 rares (accidentally killed the first :) Hope this helps
just followed the method previously poasted within 15mins a bear spawned rare first go as well at 20:16 server time :)
I went with the comments below and just started killing all the bears because I didn't know which were mothers and not... 2nd spawn was a rare, and as I'm leaving atleast 6 more spaws are up ~Gurubashi
Killing the all the bears but the momma bears works great. Just make a circle and kill anything that doesn't have a cub. If you're like me, you can forget which bears are mommas before they spawn a second cub. So to keep from killing them on the next pass I would put a raid marker up. In about 10 minutes I had four mommas up and got my rare in minutes after that.
After reading previous comments, killed 3 bears an Rare spwned. Giddy up.

captured a common for the achieve, then tried to get an uncommon or rare.....what a pain, must of killed at least 200 it seems before i finally got an uncommon, those that get a rare are lucky and have tons of patience. "applauds"

after i posted this i went one last round, to see what popped up, the first was a grey but i got lucky, finally got my rare. im happy, good night :)
I had to kill about 60 bears in order to get these little guys to start spawning. I had like 3 uncommons, and the rest were just grey. Needless to say, I might come back to get a rare of the zombie bear.
I cant verify that "momma" bears respawn more cubs. After I fought their spawn, the "momma' bears didnt seem to spawn any more cubs.
I just spent 2 hours farming this bear with the mentioned "keep the mama bears alive" strat. It worked, and I finally got my rare.
But now that I have it I can't use it because it makes me itchy and sad at the same time.
The Mama bear Method is very helpful. I was fortunate in that I didn't have to deal with an over crowded zone. I was able to mark the Cub spawning bears and make a path for myself to track. Sadly after an hour of farming I can across only one Uncommon. The rare Zombie pet still eludes me..However He's wicked cute in a zombie kinda way. I may name him Romero =)
Momma bear method worked for getting me my rare, I marked them with raid icons to make it easier so i knew which ones not to kill.
I came there, but I couldn't find any, so I went to other side of the mine. I found one or two bears, I fought first one, it had about 380 hp , and it's rarity was green, so I think it's nice.
