A pretty good pet, with a strong heal, nice health pool and good damage output, as well as a stun. It's one of the first pets I worked hard with, and one of my first team to 25. Essentially, open the fight by Planting, throwing a Stun Seed (unless they are faster and have an evasion ability available), then proceed to use Burn.

With Hallow's End just around the corner, and knowing of the strength of this pet, I'm considering selling lv 25s on the AH whenever I get a new one.

Alright so I've been using this as my main battle pet since i started battling and this pet is awesome. I also noticed an interesting effect that isn't stated on any of its abilities. So if you have Leech Seed on the target when Stun Seed kills it you get healed for about 50% of your health. It’s pretty awesome but kind of hard to do on level 25 pets unless there week to either ability. Just thought I’d share this info.

Just noticed a lot of these on the AH. I didn't know they could be sold, I guess I shouldn't have thrown out all the ones I got this year.

This pet is now available by vendor, for 150 tricky treats. 2011. For those people that never seem to be lucky enough to get him on our mains, which you will now only get by candy buckets and dailies. No more hourly innkeepers.

Edit: You can also get it out of the "handful of treats" that you receive 1 per candy buckets in the inns.

I thought my obsession with getting this little guy would land me in the looney bin! But after 2 years of Hallowed Ends and billions of tricks (more than treats), killing the headless horseman over and over and throwing water buckets at buildings, and watching everyone else get their FIFTH Squashling on one toon, he was FINALLY mine!!!! I lub him. ::huggles her widdle squashling:: Ok, so maybe the looney bin isn't out of my furture, yet.

I tricked and treated all last year, nothing. This year, my Warlock gets him on her second Horseman run!

He reminds me of the Great Pumpkin from a Robot Chicken "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" parody, just not quite as evil. (surprisingly not available on YouTube)

Still, let's hope this little guy doesn't run into any Kite-Eating Trees.

I don't believe the drop rate mentioned above. For an idea of the frustration this pet is causing my pet collector (level 79):

Log in every hour (using egg timer), average 15 times/day, since day 1
Getting on average, half tricks versus treats.
So for: 10 days, 15 times/day = 75 treats, no drop.
Add the daily horseman/village fires = 0 drops so far

Statistically speaking, for the amount of bags I've gotten, I SHOULD have seen the pet 3 times now.

3 days to go, wish me luck.

This guys tough to get, all 3 sources have low droprates, and for high level characters, Innkeepers seem to give more tricks than treats, and when they do give treats, they usually suck! on my first Treat Bag (which I got after getting tricked like 4 times) all I got was a 1 slot bag!

This guy is really a tricker.

It seems impossible to get with my main pet collector char, yet I got it on my third trick or treat with a lvl 17 alt that was destined tu be deleted to make room for a worgen when cataclysm comes out (because I want a worgen with a worg pup).

If you stand on terrains that are not flat or swim with your Squashling,it will root itself into the water (or not-flat terrain), but you will still see all the lower half of the body, the roots (Or see part of the lower half of his body when on a non-flat terrain).

I was having really bad luck with this pet. I must have made 50-100 kills without seeing it (no one had won the roll in front of me) and I didn't get it from candy bags either. It felt like it could never drop!

I would have given up without my lovely friends going for the boss over and over again just to get the pet for me. It did drop in the end from the boss afer countless kills and made it my 50th pet so I also got Stinker (and achievement). I just want to tell people not to give up :)

So far it is remains a mystery what this pet looks like without the pumpkin. Some suspect it may be a Ammen Vale Lashling on commando-training.

This is the pet that started my obsessive pet collecting quest. I had only been playing a few weeks and saw someone with this pet in the Stormwind bank. I was blown away. It was the coolest thing I had seen in the game up to that point! I asked how they got the pet and that was it -- nothing would do until I got that pet myself, which I did several months later after obsessive trick-or-treating. I still think it's one of the best pets in the game!

Let me tell you about the Sinister Squashling. This thing is WEIRD. It flaps around on leafy limbs that should in no way be able to support its large head. Then, sometimes, it buries its body in the ground. Why it does this is a mystery. Does it collapse under the weight of its massive head? Perhaps it is lying in wait for its prey, or resting so it can recharge its squash-jutsu. Or maybe it just longs to be a fully-grown pumpkin.

Mmmm... Sinister Squashling. This little pumpkin soldier is one of the sweetest pets around! And when Hallow's End is over, you can still enjoy the company of your animated Jack-o-Lantern. Then again, if you tire of his companionship you could prepare for the next big holiday and turn him into pie. Mmmm... pie.
