This is one of several raptor companions introduced in patch 3.2. Upon its initial release, this pet dropped from Ravasaur Matriarch, a rare spawn in southeastern Un'Goro who appears roughly every 10-14 hours.

As of patch 3.3, the Ravasaur Hatchling became a lootable item from Ravasaur Matriarch's Nest.

Note that this raptor hatchling is a little larger than the others.

For those searching for this pet, I've read, and have now experienced, that the nests spawn independently of the named mobs. They're on different timers, and the named do not trigger the nests, nor vice-versa. Don't bother searching for the named, just look at the locations shown on wowhead for the nests, and check back periodically.

Just got him at 69.67 from the nest. 25 Feb 2011. Was just doing Archaeology around the area and saw it!

I love my little Ravasaur. It's kind of neat when I have people ask me where I got it! Probably the hardest one aside my Kirin Tor Familiar that I went after.

The Matriarch and the nest can spawn at different times ppl,just happened to me...saw and killed the raptor,but no egg in sight.Means more Un´Goro camping for me.Hope this helps someone in the same situation.

This along with the other hatchlings have been fairly easy to get so far. I have gotten leaping, darting, obsidian, ravasaur and razormaw all within 24 hrs. maybe it has something to do with a low pop server, i'm not complaining :-p

When I first played WoW in Dec. I remember my brother leaving me in Ungoro crater and saying just kill the dinos... and I did and I got this lil guy on my second kill. My brother was completely shocked when he saw me with him haha. He still says im just the lucky noob. I started playing again and i sell pets for gold so i went in search for this lil fella and found him at 68.8,66.8 like someone said before on my first search [: TYVM for the help ^.^

I thought I would go for a wander into the crater for a look, armed with the coords for the nests and a mud map of the locations to make it a little easier. No sign of the Matriarch, but there at the first location, a nest, ok, don't get excited now, could be nothing, but wait, it was clickable, AWESOME! How can this be. On the other hand, about flaming time I found a rare spawn with no trouble. About 9:40am. Nagrand. Nest next to tree at approx. 69 67.

YES! Only camped this out for roughly a day. I was at (63,63) cos it had been dropping there for other people but it spawned at (62.1,65.1) 9:50am realm time. I'm sooooooooooo happy! Such an awesome pet - good luck to anyone else who seeks him!

I have been swinging by Ungoro often to try catch Matriarch.. When i finally got it in to my head the damn thing was just spawning in a nest.. :( (from patch 3.3)
Got lucky just now 3:20pm just after finishing 5runs in WC to get Deviate, so two new Pet Raptors in my pocket..
btw the Ravasaur i got from the nest at 62/73.6 ;)

Found the nest at 62,73 between one of the ginormous trees and something like a palm tree.

He's so cute! But for more useful information. I got mine yesterday after circling the trees in the area he was said to be found I found the nest wedged between a palm tree and a big tree (typical big trees in Un'Goro) around the area under the "Micky Mouse" looking pond.
Even better, I suggest doing the quests for the Whistle of the Venomhide mount, because you have to go back to Un'Goro every other day for the quest (1 out of 3). I got my hatching on day 6 of raising my baby venomhide.

This little guy is great and really does go well with the S. Razzashi Raptor. My buddy stopped off in Un'Goro before heading to Tanaris to work on her robo-chicken and found him! She was awesome and gave it to me. It was 2pm server time so I'd consider it earlier in the wow day, probably this time or sooner is of course the best times to hunt for this fellow. He also seems quite chatty, as he's hollered a few times while I've been typing this XD Thanks Rayhelah <3

So i found and killed the Matriarch, but shortly died after killing her ( I was at lvl 46 at the time). So after I respawned, i started looking around and saw this lvl 80 dwarf running around in the same area! I searched around where I killed her and all the spawning points and found nothing!!I think he ran away with my Ravasaur!!!!!! Gotta go try again now : (


UPDATE! So I got my Ravasaur!!! Went back today and searched 63,63 and snatched this little guy up! Super easy! So happy now!

found the nest today at 63,63. Second night hunting all these little ones and Im already at 4/7. The hardest one for me so far has been Dash's Nest...still havent found it yet. And havent hit up ZG yet...we'll see

This one matches the ZG raptor mount the most color-wise. I put this guy on the front of my mount macro so it pops out every time I mount.

I have to say, out of eight of the raptors, this one is most definitely (in my opinion) the CUTEST, and it seems to get a lot more attention from people. Here is a tip to help get you your pet, make a macro to /target Ravasaur Matriarch then include /cast icy touch (include an instant cast spell that you have instead of icy touch). I also recommend setting your alarm clock to a time early in the morning so you have better luck finding it. Good luck hunting for your hatchling!

Hunting Log, Day 272: I've been hunting baby raptors for the better part of a year now. This leg of my expedition has kept me a prisoner to Un'Goro Crater for months. There are hundreds of us lying in wait here, eager to get our hands on a Ravasaur Matriarch. And every time one shows up, it's immediately tagged by someone else. I grow weary of the hunt. *sigh* Maybe I'll get Hemet Nesingwary to finish this one for me. He's quite fond of my Mana Biscuits, you know.
