This raptor companion is available upon defeating Bloodlord Mandokir in the new five-man heroic Zul'gurub dungeon. Players who have completed the level 20+ Lashtail Hatchling quest chain will find a captured Lashtail Hatchling in the instance, which they can save, and conclude this raptor's storyline.

To begin the lower level quest chain, horde players will need to pick up the quest The Defense of Grom'gol: Raptor Risk and alliance players will need to pick up the quest Bad Medicine.

Unlike other pets, the Lashtail Hatchling will proudly sport the title of 'aka instead of 's Compnaion.

As the last two noted, there currently seems to be an issue with Be Raptor. It, and apparently many other vehicle-based quests, are currently borked. Several Bug Report forum threads already. Advise just picking up the quest and holding it for now. If you get locked into ZG, drop the quest and relog, and you'll be ported to the graveyard outside.

I currently can't complete the quest chain to be able to get this little girl. Be Raptor, is completely broken for me and I phase into ZG without the ability to interact with anything. Blizzard said that many vehicle quests are broken at the moment and they hope to fix it when they can. I hope this helps anyone else that is having problems!

the part of the quest chain,be raptor, is currently bugged for many , or all probably, since it seams to be server side.

do the quest line up to Be raptor

then dont delete your hole system, clear wtf etc... , just sit back an wait for blizz to fix it.

Be a Raptor is bugged for me =( When I get ported into ZG as the lil raptor the first one i need to talk to, to start the event isn't there... Ticket is in to a GM. I dropped and restarted the quest multiple times.

Something interesting I've found about the pet that makes my heart break just a little more. The quest "an old friend" saying "shes earned a few scares" isn't just flavor text. Compare the companion with the NPC (Ohgan'Aka) and you'll notice that she dose have small scars around her mouth and large ones along the back of her neck that she didn't have before.

This post helped me get my raptor. It's a pretty detailed walk-through, since I got stuck about one quest in. As mentioned, the level 85 troll quest line in STV phases you, and you will not be able to see/complete any quests towards your hatchling if you're in the midst of the troll quests. You'll have to either complete those first, or not start them at all until you're done.

This is officially my favorite pet, ever. I've noticed two interesting things about her, though. 1) The part about her being slightly larger isn't just filler text - she IS a little bigger than the other raptor hatchlings, from what I've seen. 2) She doesn't just pull bones off enemy mobs. When I was standing next to a party member's corpse, little Petshop'aka ran over, and brought me a bone from him. I guess she thought I needed something to remember him by.

I Love the quest chain led up for this pet, the first part of it i was just lost so i killed everything but when you got near the end and had to run around as the little guy i loved it!! sooo cute :D

One of my favorite pets sofar. The story behind little Ohgan'Aka is funny, sad, and everything inbetween. Never before have I wanted to see a boss dead as much as Mandokir. How dare he take Feyanra'Aka away from me! Brainwash her? Torture her?!

A thousand deaths are not enough for this Troll!

Who cares about Arthas, Deathwing and all them.. this troll gonna die!

The comments left by madwolf and glowyrm here confirm the full quest chains required to be able to pick up the final "An Old Friend" quest. As mentioned on Quintessence's blog, if you're horde, you'll need to have finished (or not started) the phased introduction to STV as an 85 before you can start it.

For the Horde side, you'll need to go back to Grom'Gol and get the quest that takes you to Bambala to talk to with the Priestess there. She'll give you a couple of quests to gather feathers and some dude's brain. Once you do those for her, she'll give you the Be Raptor to enter the mind of the little girl.

Warning... it's kinda tricky so I highly recommend watching some of the YouTube videos out there for the easiest way to do it.

Is this all there is to it or is there more? Some say a quest Be Rapter needs to be done but after the rapter is taken then what?

ya its cute when she goes and starts mauling a recently killed corpse and brings ya a bone, then shortly throws it away. also she will do this multiple times to the same corpse

I have the feeling that the quest is a random something, or something only 1 player at a time can do.
I had done the quest chain before cata, and the L85 one before entering ZG. the chained hatchling gave a quest that rewarded me the pet. My GF who was in the same group, couldn't complete it however.

Hunting Log, Day 309: Today my ongoing raptor expedition take me to Stranglethorn Vale. I'm planning to liberate a baby Lashtail from those evil Zul'Gurub trolls. Their funky voodoo is no match for my magic! After a couple of Arcane Barrages and a missile attack for good measure, they'll wish they'd never touched this lil' guy. Then again, they are elite... and I'm severely undergeared. *sigh* Well, there's always Day 310.
