I have an idea for great idle animation. It definitely SHOULD burn to the ashes and then recreate from those ashes. That would probably be the best mini-pet animation ever!

Definitely one of the best pets ever.

Depending on your class it may be a good idea to solo Heroic Magister's Terrace for a chance at the pet and mount as a Demo Lock i did it quite a few times with a healer but kept losing it to them when it droped so i started soloing it and managed to get both the pet and mount.

21 runs on normal... don't forget to loot the blues and epics to vendor... you can skip 90% of the mobs at 85... skip the last group just before last boss, then he won't give a speech., click orb behind him to leave

After 22 runs between two characters I finally have this pet to add to my collection. I've been doing it once per day on heroic to avoid burnout and have a chance for the mount as well (which is still being stubborn). At 90 you can avoid all trash minus the trash in the room with Selin, since he pulls them when aggro'd. If you skip the pack immediately before Kael'thas he won't go through his whole RP scene about Tempest Keep - saves you a few seconds of time.

Hahahaha, I got mine out of a bribe bag for healing a heroic. Zero effort phoenix hatchling for the win!

Fast, and sturdy with the self-heal. The damaging elemental shield also works while the pet is on the backline - cast it immediately, and then right before switching out for added hilarity!

Been farming this lil' guy for well over a year on and off (mostly off...). Got serious this weekend and did H mode every day (for a shot at the White Hawkstrider as well). Last fight I slowed down and let kael spawn his Phoenix pet and actually dotted Kael and Phoenix down just as I got levitated to my death. Returned to loot body and there was the hatchling! U can pretty much run front to back and engage only bosses and a few mobs if you;re careful. Very soloable!

Decided to farm this this morning as I liked the 1/16 drop rate! Did one HC, and maybe 11-12 normals and it dropped! Got me my 150 achi too so got this beautiful guy and my Celestial Dragon all at once, was thrilled! :D

If you are farming this little guy, be sure to group with an enchanter. Even if they aren't in the instance with you (like they are in Hyjal and you are farming) it still lets you de the blues and greens.

Also, if you do it on heroic there is also the chance to get the great Orb of the Sindori item that lets you turn into a Blood Elf.

I farmed this pet with another druid so we were able to skip a lot of the trash. Best to do on normal mode so it's fast and easy :) Still pretty boring so do a few runs at once and have a break before going again!

I'm pretty sure any 2 classes at level 80 could manage this so long as you know what you're doing and how to avoid Kael damage which can still be pretty nasty if you stay in wrong spot.

With the latest patch the "Immolate + Conflagrate" combo doesn't do as much damage. Still a very nice looking pet but not as strong as it used to be.

I'm not sure if they upped the drop rate.  My wife & I breezed through in about 5 minutes per run.  2 pets in 4 runs, though no mount.  What doesn't make sense is why a phoenix does not have a rebirth ability?  It just seems it would fit.

I've noticed that it doesn't ignore weather effects like it should as an elemental. At least with the -Scorched Earth- effect.

Update.. Yes mine WAS  recieving damage from weather effects :T thank you, I can read the pet battle combat log just fine.

I contacted a GM and they told me it was indeed a bug that I had stumbled acrossed, it has now been fixed and my hatchling ignores weather as it should.

Back in Wrath (I'm a Wrath baby), I went with a Paladin friend one two different occasions on my hunter.  On the 2nd time ever being there, not only did I get this pet, but I got the mount as well in the same run.

Awesome looking pet and very nice combination of cauterize and immolation. Speed breed isn't optimal but still useful.

Supposedly, phoenixes will turn into a pile of ashes upon death. Then a new phoenix will rise up from the ashes, reborn and rejuvenated. So my question is this: which of you unruly phoenix owners was so careless as to allow your precious phoenix flying mount to die? Huh?! Because if I manage to get this adorable baby bird, all I can say is "Finders Keepers!"
