This pet is received via an in-game mail sent to all characters (current and future) on all accounts tied to a Battle.net account that has been linked to a Blizzard Authenticator. If the authenticator is removed from a Battle.net account, the Core Hound Pup will disappear from the collection of all of characters associated with the account. If an authenticator is reattached, the pet will be re-mailed to all characters. If you switch authenticators while in-game, the pet will remain intact.

I love this pet. Everytime I make a char I always couldn't wait to go to the mail box and go get him. Now with MoP out I don't have to go to the mail box anymore but I always try to summon him when someone else has him. I also love all of the emotions that he does it makes the pet more fun and interactive :D Happy Collecting :D

With the introduction of pet genders to this site, I have found out that my core hound pup is female. Will now be changing her name to whatever variation of "Flaming B*tch" the game will allow :)

I love this pet he packs quite a punch. He will be on my main team untill I find another that can woop him like a dog.

I like the incentive for getting an authenticator. If you think about it, we really cared about getting the pet for our collection and now all our Blizzard games are more protected from hackers.
It really is a great pet too. I use him a lot!

Annoying pet, even though it looks quite good. Almost everyone has it (you get it for pretty much nothing) and it makes constant distracting echoey yaps.

it woold be funny if that each time you somon him he woold be green, green and yellow or orange/red. because those colors are included in the actuall wild core hounds

To me this pet is a bit double-edged for me. While he is a great-looking pet, has good animations, and gave me the final push I needed to purchase an authenticator, he is also overly-noisy. He makes his ghostly, barking noise every few seconds, and this can become a bit annoying if you are not currently basking in the glory of this cool pet. In closing, if you don't have an authenticator, get one. It provides great security which helps make up for the battle.net name being based on your email.

Personally, I find him a bit too noisy to have out all of the time, but he does have his charms.

However, he always makes an appearance with me anytime I face off with Lavanthor in the Violet Hold. Pull him out, give him a nice pat before slaughtering and skinning his kin.

To all the GM's and Officers out there, as a GM myself, I have started to enforce some new rules regarding promotions and permissions in our guild and its bank. I have found it extremely useful to ask members of my guild to prove the security of their accounts by summoning their Core Hound Pup. this pet is achieved through the $6.50 authenticator (+shipping) OR you can get it for free (from what I heard) if you have an Iphone or Itouch as an Ap, you also lose the pet (even if you learned it) if the authenticator gets disconnected from the account, but any who, this is the second dog (See Perky Pug) and probably has the cutest emotes, but also the most noisy, he makes a wierd growling noise almost once every 2 seconds :P

I'd like to correct a previous post and say that, yes, the Pup DOES interact with the fetch ball. I love playing fetch with my pup.

You get this pet when you get an authenticator. It comes in the mail from Breanni. The core hound pup is very cute, and makes a good guard dog, he likes to stand on back legs, dig and fight over a bone, and i havent seen him do it but ive been told he rolls over.

Since you only get this little guy if you have an Authenticator tied to your account, some guilds are using him as a security feature on the guild bank: people don't get access until they show their Corehound Pup pet.

When I adopted that core hound from Ragnaros, he didn't tell me it was pregnant... or that core hounds have 666 puppies to a litter! Ambitious as I am, I thought it would be fun to teach them to beg, fetch, and roll over, but then they wouldn't stop! You can imagine how many fires were set by 666 flaming puppies rolling around. My shop nearly burned to the ground! Glad I found some nice folks that needed a guard dog — confining my water elemental to fire duty was getting to be a nuisance.
