I actually hit a rare ( H/P ) within my first 3 fights, but none since... a few uncommons but I didn't capture.. I did randomly capture a poor H/H one because I can always stone it if I want.
Anyone really have a thought on which breed is best for the Harvester?
I must have been having a really bad day with these. I was at the farm closest to Elwynn and I killed about 30 of these. The first 20ish? Grey. Then I got an uncommon, which I captured, just in case. Smart move because the next 10ish were grey as well. At that point, I just decided to move on. Though I might go back soon, even if only to level my elementals. Who knows, maybe I'll run into my rare when I'm NOT trying! :P
Well i don't know what i was doing wrong, but it took me around 150 tries to get my rare of these tricky litlle buggers - killed over 20 Uncommons before i got my rare. Just goes to show though - good things come to those who work for them.
Really easy to get a rare one, just fight some of them and a rare will soon spawn.
Got my rare on the third battle, in the farm closest to Elwynn Forest. Good luck!
Got my rare one in the second battle in the first farmland after entering from Elwynn Forest. There were quite a lot of players farming them at that time, but there was no shortage of these fellows - just check all the farms and see where there are less people and camp it for a bit. Happy hunting!
It took me about 40 fights to find my first rare of these. They respawn almost as soon as you've taken one out, so you almost don't even need to go from farm to farm to find fresh ones. I'm just glad to be done with hunting for this particular rare anymore
Got one at 53, 31 @ 1014 server time. Plenty of them to be had in the tilled fields with the Harvester mobs.
dont be afraid to kill em since they are mechanics and will come back to life :P. accidently killed my first one and managed to capture it when it ressurected :D
Got an uncommon on my first try right near Old MacDonald ... another one spawned in the same field, and it happened to be a rare.
I acquired a rare first try, looking around farms proved sucessful in my hunt for one :) though I'm sure they spawn other places in Westfall.
I levelled 6 elementals from 1-5 farming for this lil guy's rare version! Was actually pretty fun, Tiny Snowman flips his hat while fighting..never would have found that out :) Just pick a new level 1 elemental as the old one reaches 5, makes the rng much less gruesome!
theres definetely more to RNG than people think. theres a multiplier for each pet. because it took me 70 attempts to catch a rare one of these....
That's exactly what I did, but it took more than 30 tries to get the rare -- I couldn't believe how many uncommons I found! They spawn at the farm fields and a new one would pop almost immediately after I killed one, so I didn't have to run around much.
On the other hand, I decided to pick up a snake while in Westfall, and the second one I battled was a rare. I swear the RNG knows which pets I really want, and teases me with the ones I don't really care about. :)
an excellent way to lvl your sinister squashling ... and doesn't take much to get a rare
