The mob that drops this pet is a rare spawn that patrols the southern beach, just below Ihgaluk Crag on the Isle of Thunder.

i have 2 of these in my pet log but i can't add a 3rd one it says "you can't have any more pets" it might be a bug in world of warcraft pet interface or something...
Just got him today from Haywire. First time killing the rare. I died once during battle. Came back and managed to get in a few hits before he died. I didn't even know this pet dropped from the mob.
Got the pet on my 3rd kill. Spawns were 36 mins, 48 mins, 55 mins from the time of the previous kill (not spawn).
If you can't loot, relog. I also heard running away til you can't target him and coming back works, or killing another creature and looting it works, but I did the relog method. Two of my 3 kills I had no loot, relogged, and it was there. One of those was the pet. So be sure to try this if you can't loot him.
Also got a key, stone, and tomes of valor. Hope this helps someone. GL all!
Anyone find it strange that Haywire is a beast type ability? It might get changed in the future.
Seems to have a rather large drop rate (at least the same as if not better than the classic raid pets), I killed twice in a row and got the pet both times. The spawns on the isle are very fast (~30 minutes).
As a battle pet..He is breed 4, is the second mech with Call Lightning (Tranquil Mechanical Yeti), and has Supercharge too. He lacks any mech attack though besides the lightning, and there are better pets with beast-centric attacks..so I don't know how useful he really is.
This pet is awesome got it today. Now it's 25 and massive dmg dealer:)
Just killed him. BF didn't get any loot on him. I got gold and a 15 VP book. No pet. :(
Update: Killed him at least 7 times and finally got it! There's a lot of bugs with the loot on these rares. Sometimes you get loot sometimes you don't, regardless if you have the tag. When you have no loot, or tried to loot and then it disappeared from the loot window (but not into your bags); if you drag another mob nearby and kill it, about half the time you'll get that missing loot via aoe looting.
just killed this rare Haywire on the far side of the isle on the beach , the whole group got to loot one from his corpse it is soulbound :) great looking pet, little bit like xt
In PTR this dropped from the rare (silver dragon) Haywire Sunreaver Construct (NPCID:50358) found on Isle of Thunder. Like the other battle pets off rares this is not a 100% drop.
