The Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot will fire a volley of rockets at any other nearby Rocket Bot (including the 2007 Winter Veil Clockwork Rocket Bot), destroying it on impact. (Note that destroyed Rocket Bots may be resummoned by their owners.)

As of patch 4.1, this pet can also be purchased from Craggle Wobbletop (Stormwind City) and Blax Bottlerock (Orgrimmar).

Even though the rocket bot is basically just the other bots with a paint job, you've gotta love when Blizz adds in the extra actions to them, such as trying to eliminate his competition to prove that hes more than a carbon-copy.

Something to note regarding this pet: unlike most of the vendor-sold pets, this one is bind-on-pickup. I bought an extra one to give to a guildie as a gift, only to discover when I went to mail it that it was soulbound and I had just wasted 40g. :(

But this is an awesome pet and a must-have if you missed out on the original one.

I think I'll call mine the Blue Bomber in honor of Mega Man. Apparently dressing a robot in blue makes them very violent and skilled with hand rockets.

For you serious pet battlers out there, consider this: you can buy this pet and hunt out one of three breeds. Mechanicals are notoriously slow, so I would suggest finding one that starts with stats of H=148 / P=10 / S=12. At 25 rare, this will put him at 1400 / 260 / 325, which might grant you a few first strikes. This will certainly surprise most PvP'ers, who will expect a mechanical to be slow. Sadly, the speed comes at a price: no healing option for this guy. So make that first strike count!

Blue Clockwork Rocket Bot. Found it here on this website, then I told my boyfriend about it. Now people who didn't get the Winter Veil version can get this one and have some fun.

His reaction: they made this one so more people could place it by Lil' XT and get broken. It made me a little bit sad >.<

This is a great pet since it is a mid-step between having the original bot and the mountain dew one (which has the big fuel tanks that I don't care for) even though these types of pets aren't my favorite kind, I do appreciate that they allow players to expand their collection with a non-exclusive bot. I've been waiting for a new pet that takes at least some time to obtain, since most of the pets we've seen lately cost RL$/gold. The perky pug can be collected just from doing the normal routine.

This is a great compromise: People who weren't playing during Winter Veil 2007 still can have the fun of the clockwork rocket bot, but the people who did play back then get their rare pet.

Use with care: I just blew up a guy's Clockwork Rocket Bot in Orgrimmar, and he was convinced I had destroyed it permanently. I had to force him to resummon it to ease his tension, but the damage was done.

Every since Jepetto Joybuzz entered the companion market, he and I have had started a friendly rivalry. He thinks he can sell more Rocket Bots than I can sell Calico Cats. We agreed that we wouldn't persuade prospective buyers and we'd just let the numbers do the talking. Works for me! Everyone already knows that Jepetto's creations aren't much fun to pet. And they don't purr. And they tend to break stuff. And they're violent. And they require winding. Or fuel. And constant maintenance.
