My shaman friend made one for me and left a little story for him:

"During one of my latest explorative studies of Pandarian Dragon Anatomy, the most peculiar thing occured. It seems that a chain of energy passed from each of my totems and merged with the clockwork model I was fixing. Needless to say, the model is no longer an object, but a living construct!

I feel that you may take better care of this little one than I could; it's already eaten through my bolt stockpile..."

I named it Bolts. ^^

Update: Had upgraded this sexy "mechanical" to rare with the first mechanical battle-stone I got. I now finally got him to 25 and he is amazing at taking down Magic pets with his 309 speed. Just two spells. Decoy and Breath. Job done.

@Helvira You learn it at your Engineering trailer (575 skill).

@Silverthorn You are incorrect. I know for a fact that I learnt it on my engnineer at the normal trainer in Org.

A guildie of mine needed gold and was wondering why her AH stuff wasn't selling, so I asked what she had on there. When she said pets, I had to run to get them. This little dragonling was looking at me with its gear-y eyes, so I bought him from her. I haven't battled him yet, but I'll be sure to post details once I do!

No schematic is needed to craft this pet. Level engineering to 600 and it will be offered by any engineering trainer. I was able to pick up the recipe in Stormwind!

Not sure why Insanejames was downvoted. The MPD is indeed a fantastic pet for PvP pet battles due to Decoy, its 289 speed and Mech racial. Decoy is a fantastic ability when timed well and since the MPD will outspeed a lot of hard-hitting pets, it's not overly difficult to use. Thunderbolt allows it to fit in well with AoE teams, not that it has problems rounding out a team anyway with its Decoy.

I can't even find the information about this pet that I seek on Wowhead, so I thought I'd ask the ever-vigilant WarcraftPets.com members: Where can I find the schematic to make this pet? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have to mirror the other comments on how fun this guy is as a battle pet. His stats are a touch lower as you would expect with an uncommon but the fun factor is very high due to the unique battle talents. Will be the first pet I level from an uncommon to a rare when the patch comes out.

What a fun guy!  I had fun levelling him, he holds his own despite the uncommon rating.  He is a wonderful companion for helping your other pets level extremely fast.  The decoy ability protects my little level 1-5 guys from getting one-shotted.  He got the name Turbo which I think is quite fitting for all his non-stop activity by your side.

The MPD is one of my favorite go-to pets for several battles. He's first in line for both of the Darkmoon tamers, able to take down Jeremy's first two pets with no problem, and putting a major dent in Christoph's. His best PvE use, however, is for Ashlei in WoD's Shadowmoon Valley. The MPD can solo the fight, meaning you can carry two other pets for an excellent XP boost, even level 1s thanks to Ashlei's third pet being completely harmless.

The Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling was already ungodly ridiculous, so when the buffs to Thunderbolt came with 6.0, it just about became the new Unborn Val'kyr. You need a pet that can force multiple attacks (StampedeBanana Barrage, etc.), team heal, or deal heavy Elemental damage if you want to have any hope of taking this little guy down.

Make 3 of these pets a 25 rare and you've got yourself a pvp team that will most likely get you a win with the other user quitting, or being unable to come up with a way to kill you. Decoy, thunderbolt, switch. Rinse, repeat.

It's the devil's work, I tells ya.

Constructed from a seemingly impossible mass of gears, springs, wires, and a little something special, this dragonling embodies the spirit of Pandaria as seen through an engineer's goggles.
