The engineering wizards in Everlook created this unique cub as a test model. Unfortunately a few went rogue and were never recovered.
Nesingwary 12:50am coords 59,45 just north of Everlook. I had been fighting all the pets in the area around Everlook for about an hour. This guy popped up as the lead pet of 3. Poor quality. I'll keep him and keep looking. :)
got my rare on the first one i battled. i felt bad though because there was a player who had been there for two hours trying to get one. i got the pet just west of everlook
Searched for a week, on 4 different realms, finally got my rare. I absolutely adore this guy xD
When i arrived at Everlook there were none in the area but after clearing out all the mech critters outside and inside the town limit one spawned near the horde Flight master. The cub turned out to be an uncommon spawn. I am happy to have gotten one even if it was not a rare. Good Luck all in your hunt for one of these cool pets.
Just found a rare on the hill to the left and behind the horde flight point 59.45 at 3am server time. There were quite a few around, poor, uncommon and common. They are a little outside of Everlook as well as inside. *dances the happy dance*
I spent an hour looking but didn't find any of this one. I even killed all the critters in and around Winterspring :( hoping for a spawn. Just thought I would mention it just to let folks know that many of us look for these pets and don't find them, but the joy is in the journey :) I gave my teams of this level some good xp so no time is wasted. Don't give up!
UPDATE: Found a Common, see my comment on Robo-Chick :) Common found near Horde Flight Master on hill at 1015pm Zangarmarsh time.
Got mine just to the South of Everlook, at (59.01, 52.77). I could go the rest of my life without seeing another Nut Varmint.
I nabbed mine right next to the Horde flight master in Everlook. After days of looking for them, this is the first one I saw (literally minutes after capturing a Snowy Owl!). It was a gray, but I'm too stoked to have this little guy to care. He's adorable. :)
I'm a little confused about this guy. The other day I fought about 50 all around Everlook. They spawn inside the walls but also all around both flight points and on the hills nearby. Today, I haven't seen a spawn for about an hour still, so I'm not sure what the spawn rate is supposed to be... Strangely I've been having better luck on the weekends.
found a green one at 58 47, slightly north west of horde fp, took about an hour of killing all other battle pets around everlook
He's really cute. Again you can find him around Everlook. I found him on a hill, left of the flight master and he should be siting down all cute. He came as green for me, but I'm gonna try to get a blue! (^.^)z Good luck guys!
@Violetfemme - the difference of level between two pets in a battle do make a difference in hit or miss. I still have an uncommon and use it for pet tamers and power leveling.

I finally got a stone to upgrade my uncommon to rare. But does anyone know if the Demolish "high chance to miss" changes frequency when changing to a rare? I had a battle today (b4 I got the stone) where it missed 6 times in a row and then the poor bear was done for. I can't see this guy being useful against the masters in Pandaria if he misses all the time. Or could the misses be more often if he is too low level? (lev 19 robo vs lev 25 beast) Any thoughts?
Not sure if the killing everything around works or if i got a bit of luck: got there and no robo cubs around, killed all critters and other pets and got one poor,tried again and got another poor, killed everything again for quite a while and nothing happened
After reading about The Venture Co server not being effected by CRZ I went an made a DK on that realm. I flew to Everlook this morning, and they were everywhere! I must have gone through about 20 Cubs. I managed to get an Uncommon and a Common. Nothing better came up. At 7:30am after 30 minutes of trying for a rare they all disappeared. Have not seen another spawn in the last 30 minutes.
About gave up. Then tried logical strat. Killed everything inside/around EL, even 2 squirr and rabb crit. Ran outside circut killing all rspns. Took 3 circ's then a cub would pop...(1) only. Wash, rinse, repeat...in toto...(7) cubs popped doing this, RARE was #4. 1 spwnd "IN" EL city.

Upgraded mine with a battlestone a couple weeks ago. Just found a rare today. Dammit. Well, now I have two rares. Yay? All I ever saw before was poor. The rare shocked me.
Picked one up today at 9pm ET just south of Winterspring. Mine was only a poor, but in my opinion no robotic bear could EVER be described as "poor".
Found mine today after 2hrs of farming, so far its the only one i've seen. I managed to get all rares for that zone during that time so im pretty happy.
Found it all the way on the bottom of the map in Frostwhisper Gorge
