Roughly the size of a gnome, this pet is one of the largest of all vanity pets. It may be used by non-engineers. To learn how to make this pet, speak with Umi Rumplesnicker after completing Lilith the Lithe's chain of quests. Note that you must be level 55+/engineering 250+ before Umi will offer to train you.

Have leatherworker combine the 2 above into a Cured Rugged Hide. Bring it to an engineer along with:

12 Thorium Bars
4 Truesilver Bars
4 Elemental Earths
2 Elemental Airs
2 Globes of Water
4 Runecloths
1 Gold Bar (enough for 3 yetis!)

Quest is still available for the schematic for Engineers. Starts with Lilith the Lithe the quest is called Hammer Time, Rubble Trouble ending with Boulder Delivery. At this time the quests with Umi Rumplesnicker open up.
Are We There, Yeti?, The Perfect Horns ending with Yetiphobia (the quest has changed where you only have to scare one goblin in the camp) which rewards Mechanical Yeti. If are an engineer a new quest pops up that teaches you the schematic. Happy pet collecting!

This is one of my fave pets to battle with, even though he only rates an Uncommon! Might be my imagination, but he just seems to hit opponents SO hard - it's a joy to watch! lol

Has anyone recently done the quest line as an engineer to get this pet? I spoke with a GM after doing the required quest and they said you had to be a goblin engineer and that plan was taken out of the game. Has anyone recently done this or can confirm otherwise?

Great battle pet and a great money maker for Engineers. If you can mine the metal yourself then you can get the Elemental Air and Elemental Earth in the same zone in Arathi highlands and the Globe of Water in Swamp of sorrows. The only thing I need to buy is the Cured Rugged Hide. These pets go for 400+ on the auction.

This guy has soome of the best combos of any pet. Supercharge + call lightning = dead beast, + call blizzard = dead mech. Follow a call lightning with flurry = dead critter,  and does a lot of damage vs most everything else but flying and elemental, but you should never use a mech vs elemental, anyway.

When the lightning storm is active, it seems as if my pets take damage if the lightning hits them.  Is this true? Has anyone else noticed this or is this a figment of my imagination?

Actually, first you have to do the chain quests from Lilith, then Kilram's and when you are finished, the quests "Are We There, Yeti?" and "The Perfect Horns" from Amy will be avaiable.

I have heard that if you do the quest and abandon engineering (For whatever reason) and learn it again at some point in the future you can relearn it from the quest giver provided your levels are high enough. If this isn't true let me know as I haven't been able to confirm it (Nor do I want to try <.<;)

It's a lot of materials, but he is still generally inexpensive if you can farm any of the mats. He is taller than a gnome and has the added bonus of being a mecha.

Update to Zenon's recipe list, the Deeprock Salt needs to be Refined Deeprock Salt (leatherworker is only one who can refine, with a Salt Shaker, but make sure the leatherworker can refine it also), and missing is a Globe of Water (two), also required

Ah, mechanical yeti… my arch nemesis. At long last, we meet again! You're one of the few small pets that mocks my gnomish size. And since everything in Azeroth mocks my size, your nonconformity to the average small pet angers me! You're supposed to be small! You're a small pet! Didn't you get the memo?! Argghh!!! *kicks yeti* Yowch!!!!! Ok, Yeti... you win this round.
