This pet went from Hero to Zero. Talk about a toothless tiger now, why couldn't they have just scaled back the damage that Wind-Up did?? I've had to level another mech pet now in order to take beasts down.
Yeah Hyfigh, I understand its not ZOMG must have pet anymore, but the mech attacks it has are very weak now, which is why I had to go and level another mech pet which actually had some decent mech moves. I was lucky that I had enough tokens for Darkmoon Tonk. He gets the job done.
Signed onto one of my alts on Blackwater Raiders at around 8:10pm, and there, just north of the Toxic Airfield, was one FF. Not only was it the only one, but it was a rare. I engaged it with my Cinder Kitten, and I ended up killing it. I had a two second heart attack...and then it came back to life. Thank the Lord for mechanical pets, lol.
I would recommend checking outside of Gnomeregan. Few people camp that area, from what I've seen. Good luck!
If you're having no luck on your server make a gnome on another server! Make sure to swing by the entrance to gnomergan on your way out too. Finding a rare snow cub was easy compared to finding an uncommon/rare version of this guy but finding this guy is way easier than finding an irradiated roach in the area!
I guess I don't see his downfall. The patch actually fixed a previously broken pet. If you'll notice, it can still hit pretty hard with a combo. Supercharge can crank Claw up to 769 damage and 855 with Prowl. That's just two moves, so not bad considering. Overtune and Pounce with the amp abilities works even better, though requires 3 rounds now. It's not OMGPWN awesome anymore, but it's not a worthless pet.
I see what you're saying about it not being a mechanical powerhouse. I can appreciate that.
The latest patch broke him!! now when I go into battle using
1: pounce 2:windup and 3: supercharge it puts prowl on spot 1 and supercharge on spot 2 then spot 3 has prowl again but has the locked sign saying only available for pets level 4 and up... He's level 24
Edit. I see It's because his moves were changed. If this happens to anyone else you need to go into the Pet UI and remove wind up... goodbye buddy
just looked at the new ability Flux and I'm pretty sure this just made my favorite mech pet worthless, he still has no health and now does no damage to compensate, Please tell me I'm wrong
NOOOOO! She's been nerfed! My go-to mechanical pet has been nerfed! I am most furious with this! I'd understand if they'd taken Supercharger off, but without Wind-Up, this pet's great offensive is seriously downsized, and its not as if she's got great health to attack more.
Blackwing lair pvp server... Just outside of gnomeregan... Outside the entrance the outskirts of the toxic air field.
I can confirm that going t different servers (specifically low pop/new player servers) will give you a better chance a capturing one. went to several low pop/new player servers and mde lvl 1 gnomes and found lots of Fuxfire spawns. I was lucky enough to catch a rare 8/18 breed one and its a beautiful pet. Hits like absolute truck. at level 10 I was hitting mobs for 1k non crits. now at level 23 hitting for nearly 3k on some mobs. Best of luck.
Love this guy, he is a staple in my battle team, along with a crab. I use strand crawler, due to this guys relatively low HP. round 1, have crab cast Renewing mists to keep this guy healed for a couple rounds. Swap to this guy from the crab... hit wind up, followed by prowl, then hit wind up the 2nd time. This guy can 1 hit kill most enemies, I haven't lost a battle with him yet! Give it a try you will not be disappointed. after first enemy dies, rinse and repeat with the crab. Good luck all!
EDIT: some other good team options for this one is having the crawdad from fishing, so you can use wish for the 50% life heal, would all work well with a pet using sunshine as well.
As far as my setup however, shore crab + FFF + Lofty Libram, for the team 50% damage increase, makes this one hardhitting powerhouse, and as stated, can kill almost any pet with 1 hit (aside from magic of course). @ lvl 10 was doing approx 1800 a hit, can't wait to see the output @ lvl 25.
Landed a rare on second spawn at 37,62 near New Tinkertown 8:57am ... time to level this puppy.... er kitty
Is it just me or does it seem like these simply don't spawn later at night?
There were plenty respawning in the afternoon and early evening but I haven't seen any so far at night on any realm I've checked.
I got an uncommon on 11/28/12 inside of Gnomeregan. I found 5 total, all on the path leading to the dungeon entrance, 2 poor 2 common and 1 uncommon.
I had stopped in at New Tinkertown the night before and hung out for a while, but no spawns. I logged out and when I logged back on the next day, around 4:30 server/CST, I entered Gnomeregan and found the previously mentioned 5.These do indeed spawn underground around the Gnomeregan dungeon instance portal.
Camped it for five hours on Whisperwind US. Two spawned at the same time in the Toxic Airfield at 3:15 pm. Ocassionally killed the snow cubs in the area, but didn't seem to help. The one I caught shared a spawn point with an Irradiated Cockroach.
found an uncommon 2nd try, as the horde i litterally had to try and fly into the gomergan area they killed me once but if you walk back to ur corpse towards the farther side away from the guards and rez they dont notice you and i just hoofed it from there, they kill you on the way out though :(
Whoo! I've wanted this pet for so long, but just haven't taken the time to create a gnome to look for it. Well today I created 4 gnomes on different servers, and leveled each of them to level 5, and didn't have a single spawn show up on the map. But later tonight I logged back in to each of them, and on the first one I created, on Winterhoof, there was a single spawn! Pounce! It was only a common, but I think this little fella is going to be worth a flawless stone.
I created a gnome on Aman'Thul-EU (new server), and haven't seen one single Fluxfire Feline for days.
Then I created another gnome on Dalvengyr-EU (older server), and after logging in for the first time this pet popped up right in front of me. On my way to the lift I battled four felines and one cockroach. On the airfield were nearly a dozen felines, finally a rare.
So, my advice: If you have no luck finding this pet, create another gnome on a different server.
on my way to the entrance to Gn there was one outside so I chanced it and blow me down it was a rare on my first shot :-)
