I've been hunting for a Rare Fluxfire Feline, and since Patch 6.0 hit, every single one I fought has been Uncommon. I think they changed the base rarity from Poor to Uncommon. Can anyone else confirm?
Just a tip: Try finding a 'New players' server. Had one after 10 seconds
@Hyfigh: Problem is that it's an S/S pet. Sure, it has a combo, but its stats are so low to begin with that it hardly matters- And why would an S/S pet even need Overtune? Combined with the fact that Flux is nearly worthless unless combined with a Lightning Storm, that makes the second slot completely wasted. You'd be better off going for a different cat altogether.
got on uncommon right away, ill stone him later. i decided to team him with cinder kitten and feline familiar. can anyone tell me if this is a good team?
I just made a Gnome on another server, walked outside. First one I seen was a rare, second was a white caught it and released it, next two were also rares. So I looked at 4 mobs and 3 of em were rares :)
So they nerfed Fluxfire AGAIN! Changing it's Claw from a Mechanical ability to a Beast ability.
Correction: they didn't nerf FluxFire, they just change the creature types of the trainers that FluxFire was particularly good against.
I think Blizzard looks at the game and says "oh, here's a strategy that works for players. Let's change that!"
Found an uncommon on first try, simply flew down to New Tinkertown and found one at the toxic airfield (south part).
3 Rares on team. Head handed back to self swiftly. How did I go wrong? Yeah PvP.
First time I went for this pet I found a bunch but no rares. I finally got around to trying to find a rare and for 3 days i havent seen even one spawn. WHy is the spawn rate for some of these mobs so bad. The robo-cub is another one. I have an alt parked there and in 4 days with over an hour for each visit I only saw two ever!
found an uncommon 2nd try, as the horde i litterally had to try and fly into the gomergan area they killed me once but if you walk back to ur corpse towards the farther side away from the guards and rez they dont notice you and i just hoofed it from there, they kill you on the way out though :(
Whoo! I've wanted this pet for so long, but just haven't taken the time to create a gnome to look for it. Well today I created 4 gnomes on different servers, and leveled each of them to level 5, and didn't have a single spawn show up on the map. But later tonight I logged back in to each of them, and on the first one I created, on Winterhoof, there was a single spawn! Pounce! It was only a common, but I think this little fella is going to be worth a flawless stone.
I created a gnome on Aman'Thul-EU (new server), and haven't seen one single Fluxfire Feline for days.
Then I created another gnome on Dalvengyr-EU (older server), and after logging in for the first time this pet popped up right in front of me. On my way to the lift I battled four felines and one cockroach. On the airfield were nearly a dozen felines, finally a rare.
So, my advice: If you have no luck finding this pet, create another gnome on a different server.
on my way to the entrance to Gn there was one outside so I chanced it and blow me down it was a rare on my first shot :-)
found in abundance inside gnomeregan. also a few just outside at the airstrip area but my rare was found inside.
While saddened that this is a pet that has taken a nasty hit to it's damage output at low levels, I'm more concerned (and amused) that it sounds like you hit a puppy when it dies, now. Oops!
Shouldn't this little guy be under Mechanized Critters section with his friends like the Anodized Robo-cub and Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling and Cogblade Raptor?
I guess I don't see his downfall. The patch actually fixed a previously broken pet. If you'll notice, it can still hit pretty hard with a combo. Supercharge can crank Claw up to 769 damage and 855 with Prowl. That's just two moves, so not bad considering. Overtune and Pounce with the amp abilities works even better, though requires 3 rounds now. It's not OMGPWN awesome anymore, but it's not a worthless pet.
I see what you're saying about it not being a mechanical powerhouse. I can appreciate that.
This pet went from Hero to Zero. Talk about a toothless tiger now, why couldn't they have just scaled back the damage that Wind-Up did?? I've had to level another mech pet now in order to take beasts down.
Yeah Hyfigh, I understand its not ZOMG must have pet anymore, but the mech attacks it has are very weak now, which is why I had to go and level another mech pet which actually had some decent mech moves. I was lucky that I had enough tokens for Darkmoon Tonk. He gets the job done.
The latest patch broke him!! now when I go into battle using
1: pounce 2:windup and 3: supercharge it puts prowl on spot 1 and supercharge on spot 2 then spot 3 has prowl again but has the locked sign saying only available for pets level 4 and up... He's level 24
Edit. I see It's because his moves were changed. If this happens to anyone else you need to go into the Pet UI and remove wind up... goodbye buddy
just looked at the new ability Flux and I'm pretty sure this just made my favorite mech pet worthless, he still has no health and now does no damage to compensate, Please tell me I'm wrong
