Panda Cub, Zergling and Mini Diablo are now all sent to each character created in a World of Warcraft Collector's Edition account. (Formerly, each character had to choose 1 of the 3 pets, but this was changed in patch 4.0.1). The CE edition is no longer sold in stores, adding to this pet's rarity. The item that teaches this pet's summon spell may be mailed to other characters on the account.

You wouldn't think this sleepy little panda would make a good battle pet, but since he's my favorite pet I had to try.  I've been very impressed by him - he can really smack hard, and he's the pet you want to use when battling other critters.  Plus he can Hibernate, to restore his health.  I have him at lvl 20 now, and just got "Rampage".  Love it!  Since my "pet trainer" is a Pandaren Priest, he looks great with her.  I just need a good name for him yet.

I had 2 WoW accounts, one being the C.E. I merged the two accounts to a single BattleNet account over a year ago. Anyways, I made a new toon on the C.E. account and at Level 10 did an account to account transfer. When the new toon arrived I was able to send all three C.E. pets to my primary toon thus getting 3 pets from the C.E. Now my primary toon has the Panda, Mini Diablo, and Zergling.

Onysablet, I love you. Years ago I had original CE but it was banned. I'd long forgotten that I had split a warlock off that account, to another. I hadn't forgotten the lock, just the fact that it had the Panda Collar on it. When I read your comment, it reminded me and I promptly moved one Panda Collar onto my account and now have the only original CE pet I cared about :D

Without a doubt, my favourite pet ever put into this game.

Just for some of you collectors out there who have given up on the original CE pets :
After merging your Bnet account with an old original CE account (this account does not need to be an un-used account! Just an account that has not been transformed into a Bnet account!), you may transfer a level 10 character with all three BoA items to your main collector's account, even if the collector's account is not an original CE account, the items will be available to mail to your characters this way!

This pet is the entire reason that my wife started playing WoW. As she collects pandas, it was a no brainer for her. Loss of these pets was the biggest problem I had when we split to two accounts--until Blizzard allowed for character transfers between accounts.

I am amazed at how often I will have people ask "how do you get that pet" when he is out, and at how often folks say that it was a waste of money--not in my book!

Definitely my fave and the reason why I started pet collecting. His confidence in me is what keeps him by my side as my faithful companion. Even in the heat of battle, he's able to snooze peacefully knowing that I'll protect him from harm. Now that's a loyal pet.

With the purchase of my Collector's Edition, I am now the proud parent of a precocious pint-sized panda (try saying that five times fast). But to be honest, this cute little cub prefers to travel with my feral druid. My druid tends to do most of her fighting in bear form, so this little guy has bonded with her instead of me. *pout* This is one more reason why I believe Gnomes should be able to roll druids. Teddy Bear form FTW!
